These episodes have been wonderful. It's been great to hear your recollections of your father, and your chats with brother have been fascinating. I look forward to more episodes. Thank you for letting us into your world.

If on the offchance you are reading this Michael, I would really like to see your own memories and experiences, as an actor, of receiving your own first television scripts, like the one you look at late on in the video here...

I have seen one or two of these television scripts myself and they are very technical, can be difficult to understand what is being communicated in them, and I would really enjoy hearing of your own first experiences in receiving and examining your own first television scripts - How hard was it for you to interpret just what was being asked in them? Did you find it challenging as you got into a studio or on location and maybe had questions about the script you had been sent...

It would make for a nice look back at your own early experiences, and be quite informative in itself to learn how an actor goes from handling a theatre script, to having to handle one of these television scripts.

David you did a great performance at the west end years ago when you did Goodnight Mister Tom and I roared with applause. 👏

Thank you for a very enjoyable series and to you and your brother for sharing your own personal stories.

I was thinking Sam Kydd.

Another fun and interesting episode! I love learning more about Patrick and your family.

Really enjoying these conversations between you both. I remember you well from The New Statesman. Never missed it. Your Dad is my favourite Doctor . You do a great 2nd Doctor for Big Finish too.🙂. All the best. Looking forward to the next episode.

Great to see you back, Mr T (both Mr Ts, I should say)! Yes - the streaming age malaise: so much choice uou might as well have no choice! Keep the anecdotes coming and All the Best.

Wonderful stuff, hope this continues for a long time!

One of the productions David appeared in on TV and which I’m lucky to have a DVD of is the television adaptation of the trilogy of Alan Ayckbourn plays The Norman Conquests, which had a wonderful cast: Richard Briers, Penelope Keith, Tom Conti, Penelope Wilton, Fiona Walker and of course David, who played the somewhat dim, generally oblivious but essentially very kindhearted veterinary surgeon, Tom. David gave a wonderful performance in the part, which to me is every bit as memorable as that of Bob Buzzard.

Also at one point in the plays, Fiona Walker who plays Ruth, the long-suffering wife of the philandering Norman played by Tom Conti, produces the most terrifying smile, not because it is hideous in any way, but because it masks only thinly the rage within the character at her husband‘s behaviour. I don’t know if David has any specific memories of appearing in those TV plays but if he has, it would be interesting to hear them if he does another Troughton’s Tea For Two in future.

Michael, I believe I’m correct in saying that you appeared with David in the 1974 BBCTV adaptation of David Copperfield - I remember David playing Ham Peggotty (I was 11 at the time) and it was a great production with Arthur Lowe and Martin Jarvis also appearing - and I believe you played Mick Walker, who, if memory serves, is working in the bottle cleaning factory? Nostalgia prompted me to also buy that as a DVD, having also read the Dickens novel.

A Doctor Who connection: I briefly spoke to you at a convention in Birmingham where I was dressed up as the character Theodore Maxtible that Marius Goring played alongside your father in the story The Evil Of The Daleks, most of which is currently missing from the archives and I remember watching in 1967 as a four year-old and again in 1968 when it was repeated.

But I note that you yourself appeared in an episode of The Expert in which Goring starred as a forensic pathologist. Did you get to act in scenes with or be in rehearsals with Goring (I’m guessing at the Acton Hilton)?

Goring, like your father (and like David and yourself) was an actor that could be so different and always be watchable - in A Matter Of Life And Death, The Red Shoes, Mr Perrin And Mt Trail, Fall Of Eagles and so many other roles.😊

24:10 another fabulous episode 😃👍.

Once again watched your podcast at 02.30 am, but it is truly a Troughton comfort as the steroids which form part of my chemo for myeloma, disturb my night. Just have the balance just right for me; a bit about your much missed dad, followed by a cozy and often amusing chat. I'm looking forward to more of those, with your relatives and colleagues in the biz. I'm also interested to hear more about your other audio work excluding Doctor Who, although keen to hear of your experiences on that too. Many thanks and much love to you and yours. John. 🎉

Loved these eps. Really top work and so lovely to hear David’s stories. I had the pleasure of working with the late Sam Kelly on a special drama spin off from EastEnders. I had no idea he was down for a Doctor Who and had an awful accident back then. Big fan of David and his work (and yourself - I do hope you give us the pleasure of your experiences too with things like Minder, The New Statesman and the like too (and I deffo want to know about that kids time travel quiz show you did in the 90s too. Very Doctor Who like. But thank you for your wonderful work on these episodes I look forward to more. So lovely to hear about Peculiar Practice too. I loved that show and Bob Buzzard was epic.

39:42 Prince pelidon 😃👍.

Thanks again Michael for this. I have thoroughly enjoyed both episodes and finding out a bit more about both your and  Davids career in the business. The clip from Robin Hood was a bonus. Also just finished reading the Dr Who magazine special on your fathers life and career. Patricks work will never be forgotten. The immense volume of TV work, in particular, that he left behind is truly staggering. I know the private backstory played its part too. Anyway, thanks again. Looking forward to the next all being well.

So hoping "Film is Fabulous" will find a few of your Father's missing episodes very soon. Hopefully in time for the 60th anniversary of him taking over the role of "Dr Who".

It's a pity that the first two part of videos are without subtitles... Only third with subtitles
