This song scared me in the 60s so deep for our childhood

got to be the most prophetic song ever written. Absolute masterpiece.

Song remains relevant, and is again played and referred to nowadays.

The video is a combination of the late 1960s song by Zager & Evans with scenes from Fritz Lang's 1927 early science fiction film entitled "Metropolis".  The film is based on a 1925 expressive science fiction book, which is very speculative about the replacement of humanity with humanoid robots.  The central character is a kind and religious woman who ran worker's charities in a future capitalistic society where there were the "heads" and the "workers".  The entire silent film was produced at a great cost during the Weimar Republic period of Germany.  The combination of music and silent film is very powerful, with both covering "unintended consequences".  To me, it demonstrates that our humanity is precious and must not be discarded for the false safety of authoritarianism of any variety.

2525 isn't about predictions for these exact years, just predictions, that's why we can relate what we've already seen & are afraid is coming

Real music

I was just 17 when that song came out, dont time fly lol, the way this world is edging I would think 2025 would be closer to his prediction 😞

A work of Art

We don’t have to wait until the year 3535. It’s happening now.

Its already happening!

This is our future according to wef! [The black and white film - Metropolis].

This song was a prediction and a warning..

🌹a very important line in this song is man has taken an never given back.  My goodness that's what we're doing now. Some prediction huh, scary

Haven’t heard this in decades!! Thanks! 😊

the dangers of technology

"In the Year 2525 (Exordium & Terminus)" by Zager & Evans did exceptionally well on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching number one for six consecutive weeks in the summer of 1969. It was a massive hit, selling over four million copies and becoming a premier example of a one-hit wonder in both the US and UK.  Starr, this was a great song back in 1969 and it sounds relevant now in 2026!

I remember this song whe  it came out and it scared me  it's always haunted

The word that is spelled out after"guess its time for judgement day".👺.  😳

Metropolis is a great movie.

I heard that Zager performed with 4 different groups at Woodstock and was considered one of the great guitarists. He has for years had a quality guitar manufacturing business in Tennessee. All the inspiration of the youth of the 60's evidently was for naught -- just look at the world run by the psychopaths who over-powered and killed goodness.
