Best armour I use is the plot armour of reloading when the fogmen get me

I adore holy nation armor! I keep getting piles of it because they insist on raiding me constantly. The best part is, I never have to mine for iron, since I can just melt down the free deliveries.

Actually the holy chest armor is great for putting on your recruits cause it provides them with top tier survivability while making their limbs vulnerable, which is perfect if you wanna replace them with prosthetics (and you usually do for the insane bonuses). Also maluses are great for training stats in the late game, as the stats maluses is factored in for the difference in skill used to calculate xp gains, which means crab armor is great as it makes your dexterity level faster even if the target as worse dexterity than the recruit you are trying to train

The thing with the Holy Chest Plate is that you'd think it gives a dexterity bonus, since it's arms and legs aren't encumbered.

Personally I always go for armour that have no negative percentiles, I can handle whole numbers but percentile negatives always somehow fuck me over

I have had entire playthroughs where most of my guys wore Ninja Rags and Assassin's Rags... Even if not really going for stealth. +20% dodge effect combined with a martial arts bonus makes for a solid, cheap, and stylish kit for the best combat style in the game. Who cares about protection when you're not getting hit? I like to combine it with fog masks or swamp ninja masks for a pretty creepy look that also helps mitigate the rags' lack of environment protection.

As a plate jacket enthusiast I feel obligated to point out the white plate jacket is actually the superior plate jacket unless you're trying to sneak around in medium-heavy armor. Black plate jacket has no stealth penalty, but the white plate jacket only has a 5% dexterity penalty instead of 10%. Also the regular grey plate jacket is slightly inferior to both for some reason.

The best armor was always the friends you made along the way.

I have what I call "biker" cosplay. Drifter pants, black plate jacket, mask helmet. It's not the best defence but it looks like a biker's black outfit with the motorcycle helmet... kinda.

The Samurai armor is the quintessential Kenshi armor. It's a great post apocalyptic take on the historical samurai armor. The helmet is my favorite part as it's so alien looking, but still maintains the shape and general aesthetic of a samurai's helmet and menpo.

I'm a bit late to the party but I would argue the assassin's rags are the best ranger chest later in the game. Since I build my characters around making them excel at what I expect them to do, the increase to both dex and crossbows makes them pump out the most damage where I want them, at range, and since I don't want them in prolonged melee, the increase to melee attack and combat speed also helps them end fights quickly minimizing the chance they get tied down. Considering the debuffs for injuries I just think putting out more damage is more valuable than slightly better survivability for the role

Something you havn't done yet but I actually would love to see is a tier list for the buildable buildings

my favorite combo was crab helmet with dustcoat, very good coverage and perfect protection from damaging "weather". among other benefits from the dustcoat.

Don't underestimate the power of the combat speed boost combo of Assassins' Rags and Wooden Sandals. It scales fantastically as time goes on to the point a single duelist will be able to one-on-one just about anything with the fastest sword in the West.

The trader armor made 3 of my female greenlanders to lose their left arm after a beak thing encounter. It is only after buying 3 left robot arms that I thought ''hmm wait a minute''.
Only then I saw the asymetric protection on the arms: 50% right - 10% left ☠

I have like 30 dudes in two settlements kitted out in specialist merc plate, armoured rags and chainmail and they are really good, the armor also trains dudes strength up while they run to make iron plates and stuff, most of them have foreign sabers so they just destroy in the open. They all get hit for like 10 damage from most things it’s kind of crazy. They have like 50% damage resistance in the arms and legs with like 80% stacking chainmail with a ton of coverage

When I use paladin set of armor I just use it with drifters pants. It looks even better. Also I like the fact that paladin chest plate could be painted.

my dumb ass just realized that the ninja clothing doesn't have a hat on top, but it's just the big collar piece...  I always wondered why that hat didn't show up on my character....

For general wear: Armored rags
For warfare: Crab armor
