An "important" tip that I use after setting up a new tank. Introduce your cleanup crew first. (When the tank is established) Let them do their thing for 2, 3 weeks. Then slowly add other inhabitants and look what happens. Figure out how much waist your setup can handle before adding to many fish.

Snails!!  Don’t forget the snails!  Ramshorn snails play a huge part in keeping my tank spotless.

I also will add in a Corydora crew.  They stir up the bottom of the tank so shit will get in the water column and then finally your filter.

Great video… btw!

Funny enough my Oto's are actually obsessed with aquarium co-op's magic fish feed, hikari algae wafers, and sera o-nip stickies!

Using a timer for your lights and an autofeeder keeps those consistent, which I find helpful. Unless you're really careful about doing it yourself, you can accidentally overfeed, or leave lights on too long.

OMG love the USS Enterprise 🛸

I work in software and data and hey... the "easy into things" part also applies. You want to make small changes and let them mature for a while and see if something breaks. 😄

Just found you a few weeks ago. I love the brief videos that teach well. Good job!

Awesome tips, straight forward advice from a professional - thanks for making this content

Great info , really helpful 😊

Awesome stuff man!

At least your honest about algae...👍

I’m just starting out on this journey brother. So far I have the tank and the NCC 1701 D.

Always look forward to your videos. Thanks for the info

Great tank and starship!

If having algae issues as an experienced fish keeper I use lots of Pothos for my aquariums with hang on plant holder boxes where it's roots are submerged in the water to help your filter by consuming ammonia and nitrates along with other nutrients in the water column by helping to maintain safer water parameters for fish.

Real talk this.

I wish my shrimp would breed like yours!

I can see that you are a "closet" Trekkie ❤

I clean my 75 by doing water changes every 2 wks, clean my
canister filter 2 wks after a water change, every 3-6 mons do
a total aquarium clean out to get all the under gravel muck out.

I don't have a python hose system but I do use a good pump
to take out the tank water into a CLEAN "fish only" trash can
that I use for my outside gardens & once the bad water has been
taken out &  the tank & gravel cleaned I refill the tank with a
outside hose & fill it about 1/2 full & start putting my clean gravel
& decorative rocks & plant's & driftwood back in the aquarium.

I don't like over crowding my aquarium with plant's cause I like
watching my fish swimming around but I do have some amazon
swords & they give the tank just enough space for the fish to swim.
