My 20-year-old stepdaughter and her son decided to come live here in Ireland with our family. Since I'm a European citizen, we believed the entry process would be straightforward.
But when they arrived at immigration, the situation was completely different. 🇮🇪😨
The immigration officer retained the passports of both Brazilians and, even knowing I was European, initially didn't want to allow them into Ireland.
After much discussion, he finally authorized their entry, but kept the passports and informed them that I should apply for Stamp 4 for them.
That's when I started looking for a solution. I talked in Facebook groups and, through someone, discovered SOLVIT.
I contacted them and, in less than two weeks, the problem was solved and the passports were returned.
In this video, I tell the whole story, from their arrival in Ireland to the solution of the problem, and explain what we did when we realized the situation was getting complicated.
