Jordan said "Jokic is a great player but in no way is he Larry Bird."

He was more athletic than they say today. He broke his back halfway through his career that slowed him down

… Larry Bird is the
“Real” NBA GOAT 🐐

Many players came down with what the NBA players called "The Bird Flu", and suddenly couldn't play when they were assigned to guard Bird because they were "sick". 😂😂😂

NOBODY WILL NEVER BE BIRD DONT COMPARE THESE GUYS TODAY NIT EVEN CLOSE WHEN U PLAY ON A SOFT LEAGUE

“if I had to choose a player to take a shot to save a game, I’d choose Michael Jordan. If I hade to choose a player to take a shot to save my life, I’d take Larry Bird.” ~ Pat Riley

Younger people don't realize Magic and Bird(a few others but mainly them) literally saved the NBA. A short time later MJ took the torch but the NBA was down bad. I'm so thankful I was a kid watching that era. I saw Bird win the 3 point contest live in Dallas. Ill never forget it.

Eddie Johnson when asked about the celebration fine....
"Best $100 I ever spent"

Larry Bird was the best player I ever saw. He could influence everything on the court.

Jokich and Luka are European. Larry is American. Larry is the best White American player ever, as well as probably the best all around player ever because he passed, rebounded, made steals and shot lights out. He hustled, dove for loose balls and knew what he was going to do with the ball before the defender could react.

He caused a lot of sleepless nights for a lot of players😂

17:43 “Don’t do that” - Larry Bird to Kareem!…. LOL, gets me every time

Larry was first friend to call Majic when he found out majic was diagnosed with HIV

point of interest, the 3 point line didn't exist before the 79-80 season, that same year Bird joined the NBA. So he grew up NOT playing for the 3 point shot. Just like everyone else his 1st yearin the NBA was a learning experiance for every player and team. Unlike everyone today who grew up playing with it and developing their game around it. But dispite all that he INSTANTLY became the best at it.

Before he broke his back, Larry was a good defender.  He made three 2nd team all defense teams.  Jokic and Luka aren't at that level of defense.  They have the offense down, but not quite the defense.  So they're not Larry Bird.

There still isn't another Larry Bird, and probably won't ever be, but if there ever is, that'll be great because we're going to see some phenomenal basketball!

Lemme know when Jokich or Luka come back out of the locker room with a fractured cheekbone to close out a game for their team.

Crazy facts about Danny Ainge that people don’t know: He was 6’5” and was a HS All American in Basketball, Football, and Baseball.  He won the Naismith Award his Sr year at BYU for basketball and he hit a home run for the Toronto Blue Jays in MLB before he decided to stick with basketball.  Damn good athlete that gets overlooked.

Larry Bird is easily the greatest small forward of all time.

Michael Jordan couldn’t really enjoy the game of basketball until Larry Bird retired.

Kevin McHale was a killer, seven foot tall with an eight foot wingspan and crazy moves that came from no where - hall of famer
