Is a glass of wine every night alcoholism? What if I hold off all week, but go crazy on Fridays? Where is the line between "just drinking on holidays" and a serious addiction that requires seeing a drug addiction specialist?
In this video, we'll take a detailed look at how to determine your current stage of relationship with alcohol. You'll learn the five main symptoms of alcoholism: from tolerance and internal bargaining to loss of social control. I'll explain what "pseudo-binges" are, how hangovers work, and why we persistently count our alcohol consumption in "harmless" bottles of beer or glasses of wine, even though we actually drink liters of vodka a month.
We'll also discuss the phenomenon of anosognosia—why addicts deny their illness until the very end—and how the Buddhist concept of suffering ("dukkha") explains our desire to escape reality with a glass of wine.
At the end of the video, I'll share my own method that helps you get off this merry-go-round in time—without coding, without self-harm, and without testing your willpower.
Enjoy watching! I'd appreciate your likes—they motivate me to make even more helpful videos 😉
