With freedom of speech, there will always be negatives, but the positives far outweigh someone simply being called names.. I believe there’s another reason why they want social media to be censored.
It’s good to have warrants to identify a credible source, but not everyone needs one. It’s like having a blue tick on social media, not everyone needs one to be credible
With all due respect Ricky your showing hypocrisy. You preach about misinformation did you do fact checking when your guest on your recent podcast made a accusation that Laptops after 6 months a destroyed in safekeeping without any facts or proof. He asked you to check it and if it's wrong you can remove it. That is a totally false accusation yet you ran with it.
"No, a laptop held in safekeeping by the" German police is not automatically destroyed after 6 months.
Under German law, property given to or seized by the police (known as Asservate or items in Verwahrung) is subject to strict legal regulations depending on the context of the case Criminal Evidence (StPO): If the laptop is part of a criminal investigation (even one originating in another EU country), it must be kept as long as it is required for evidence or until the legal proceedings are officially closed.
This argument is useless because political parties will never commit political suicide by introducing a law that ties their own hands. The social media aspect might be possible, but even that is still very doubtful.
