Time... It would seem, what could be more understandable and familiar? We are born, grow, develop and, finally, leave this world... And all these actions and changes are connected with time. But do we really know what time is?

The most ancient measurements of time were observations of the cycles of the surrounding world, using patterns of changes from day to night and season to season to build calendars.

Later, a more accurate time reference system appeared, which allowed us to fit time into more convenient quantities. But what exactly are we measuring?
