It's also pretty obvious that he is only focusing either on offense or on defense at one time. When he punches, his head is still, and when he slips, he doesn't even provide a real threat of a punch so the other guy doesn't have to worry about that and can just keep chasing the head.

Another point is that the long hair move the head a lot sending punches at the same time. Ty so much for the amazing videos!!

Blocking >> slipping but slipping looks cooler

It's all about timing if you don't find the timing of the opponent your slip are never going work.

hey gabriel :> i was watching some of your earlier vids on side kicks and i noticed smth funny; a lot of negatives you've talked about come from using a more bladed stance but i throw a ton of side kicks from a more square one (probably not completely square but def a lot more than most ppl would assume i could side kick from). i thought this was kinda interesting so i did some experiments and it looks like when i side kick i pick up the front leg and rotate on the ball of the foot of the back leg before planting with the kick. now im very itf style so my front foot tends to be pointing forwards while the back foot is to the side at 90, but i dare say this could possibly be used with a more square stance as well. id recommend giving it a go

For me slipping a punch feels bettter than landing one

He’s doing the thing of keeping his hands low as a surprise attack because he can’t see his own hands while using his head as a decoy. I think it’s because they’re like kids and can’t understand a perspective other than their POV. Plus, they only think of their fists as punchers and not blockers so they can’t think of a better way to avoid getting hit besides baiting their opponent.

They aren’t seeing what we see: A dude setting himself up to be punched in the face. They see themselves moving around because their POV is moving rapidly and they don’t understand how their opponent is able to hit such a speedy target or why their low fists take so long to connect.

What are they even practicing? Nothing with kicks or throws, apparently. Why would you ever no guard if there's no kicks or throws?

ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH MANTIS SIMULATED TARGETS??
THEY HAVE PISTOL, LONG GUN AND ARCHERY TARGETS.

HOW HARD WOULD IT BE TO MAKE A 3D TARGET THAT MIMICS HEAD AND BODY MOVEMENT.
I WAS THINKING A LARGE BOX/SMALL ROOM WITH LED'S THAT MAPS THE STUDENTS MOVEMENTS.
BREAK THE BEAM THAT PROTECTS THE CHIN, AND IT SCORES YOUR ACCURACY....
OR

A PUNCHING DUMMY LIKE YOURS WITH EMBEDDED SENSORS TO MEASURE STRIKES, ACCURACY AND FORCE.
I THINK ADDING A MOTIVE PLATFORM AND REACTIVE BODY PARTS (NOT A FULL ROBOT)
COULD FULLY IMMITATE AN OPPONENTS SPEED, RANGE OF MOTION, AND BE FULLY PROGRAMMABLE.
A COMBAT ROBOT SOFTWARE PACKAGE WOULD BENEFIT IMMENSELY FROM DATA FROM USERS OF THIS ACCURACY SIMULATOR....
🤔😁
