Nothing else sounds more accurate than "Killer Instinct was going to get nothing, so the fans did it themselves"

I clicked because of the phenomenal thumbnail art. I stayed because this video is a joy to watch.

Theres something darkly humorous about Sakura wholesomely reading a mortal kombat book in the tn.

The Shinkiro and Bengus art from the 90s is just an instant time capsule, even in new official renders of today

1:53:10 "Oh my god, you could've died! What happened?" "I was making a video on fighting game art books."

30:28 "Sol, I'm watching your stream bruh. I can see you trying not to Bandit Bringer, that's disrespectful as fuck"

IIRC, that Soul Calibur V art book was the ONLY way you could learn most of the lore surrounding the new characters at the time. Not even in the actual game does it say Xiba is Kilik and Xianghua's illegitimate son.

Still bummed that the Fan Made MK book didn't get made , it seemed liked something tailored for me.

The thumbnail is so cute, love the cooking showcase with the recipes from the street fighter cookbook and i do agree that artbooks with additional content and commentary are worth collecting too!

I will never forgive WB for shutting down Uppercut's MK book so that they could make their own AWFUL one XD

As someone that missed out on that initial run of the MvC artbook, I was really, really glad the updated edition happened.

And uh holy shit, glad that deep fryer incident didn't cause too much harm

I love the Soulcalibur V artbook, especially since most of the game's story ended up on the cutting room floor. It's the only way to find out the vast majority of the lore.

52:30 Hugo actually looks like Poison (with the trashy clothes and wavy hair) when his blood was drained by Dmitri (last frame of Midnight Bliss) instead of an Andore variant.

Great content and great narration voice.

The Swimsuit editions were probably inspired by the '90s swimsuit specials from comic book characters such as Lady Death, Witchblade, or the Marvel properties. Those are hardcover compilations of the yearly comic book-formatted Capcom swimsuit specials by Udon.
