A last minute change in plans led us to this beautiful island that we've always wanted to visit but could never quite get there. Just off the northern part of the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia lies Savary Island, a 7.5 km long dune of white sand surrounded by clear Pacific Waters. From Vancouver, you need to take two BC Ferries and a water taxi to get to this off-grid paradise. While Savary was the end point, the 4 night journey there and back provided some great destinations as well, including Sechelt, Saltery Bay, Powell River, Klein Lake and Smugglers Cove. We can't wait to go back! This video also provides an update on some of the recent modifications and additions to my overland setup. I also briefly discuss the unique geology of Savary Island and why it is constantly shifting.
