Chris Cornell singing the first verse, Eddie singing he second, now just imagine Layne Staley singing a third! God I think the world would end of too much amazingness

17 years old for me in 1992.
I swear it's like I went to sleep one night, woke up and now it's 2019.

"When we started rehearsing the songs, I had pulled out "Hunger Strike" and I had this feeling it was just kind of gonna be filler, it didn't feel like a real song. Eddie was sitting there kind of waiting for a (Mookie Blaylock) rehearsal and I was singing parts, and he kind of humbly—but with some balls—walked up to the mic and started singing the low parts for me because he saw it was kind of hard. We got through a couple choruses of him doing that and suddenly the light bulb came on in my head, this guy's voice is amazing for these low parts. History wrote itself after that, that became the single." - Chris Cornell

Did you guys see the little kid in the crowd, he knew the lyrics and everything.... It was so cute! <3

They don't make rock stars like this anymore.

They look like 2 hair models that decided to step on stage and jam. I swear this could be a Pantene commercial. Haha.

I came here to cry. We lost Cornell. Please Eddie take care.

Rest In Peace Spoonman,..no one sings like you anymore....

God bless whoever owned this camcorder in 1992 <3

UPDATE three years and 61 replies fighting about God later: It's an expression, I'm agnostic. In Irish/Gaelige language "Dia duit" is hello but 'Dia' means God so it's literally "God be with you...". It's an expression.

can I tell you something painful?  I was at this show.  Why is it painful?   I didn't see this.  very few did.  It wasn't announced, and most of the 18,000 of us were watching Ice Cube on the main stage.  I only found out about this 15 years later... as an urban myth.

I love how Cornell sounds okay in the beginning and then Vedder get on and he knows he's about to kill it and Cornell destroys the high vocals, great fucking performance!

When there was no internet or cell phones. Only the connection we felt with each other in all directions. No hiding, no writing on an online diary, or attention seeking. Just us, together.

Just two guys from the 90's giving it their all.

I wonder where that kid in the audience is now and if he ever thinks back to this amazing moment he got to witness...and at such a young age too

It's funny seeing them play to a small crowd...then ALL OF A SUDDEN...people hearing them from far away...come RUNNING to the stage!  HILARIOUS!

I was there for this. Can’t believe that this video exists. I told the story of how it happened for years to friends. I was in total disbelief when I stumbled upon this video. Hearing the first few notes from the lawn, realizing what was happening,  running to the side stage  as quick as I could. It was as unforgettable as you would imagine, even in the moment.

Man 2 voices who shaped music in the 90s.

Two of the most gorgeous men to ever walk on the Earth. Perfect in their imperfection. So purely talented and charming that it hurts. It hurts because these times are gone forever. I want these guys young again, I want my youth back, I want the spirit of 90's back. 🎸🤘💔

GOD GRUNGE NEEDS TO COME BACK.

If I had 1 wish , it would be to rewind back to 1991/92. Life was so stress free. The world of music was so perfect.
