almost 10 years later.  Still deserved.  Thanks for everything Mats

Legend. Mats was such a great leader. Better person.

I can't help getting fucking teary eyed watching this. Mats Leaf Nation misses you! Thankfully we can look up at your banner and remember all the great moments you brought us. The most underrated captain of this franchise, one of/if not the greatest player this franchise has had. GO LEAFS GO! GO MATS GO!!

Sundin! The best Leaf! We need more loyal players like him!! Miss watching Sundin as a kid. He was brilliant.

13! 13! 13! 13!  we love you mats..the sundin aka sweden.. no leaf shall  wear you number again in your honour....

First Ballot Hall of Famer

He was an amazing player with Toronto and one of hockey's greatest! I always loved watching him play! He seemed like a little kid out on the pond out other with that big grin on his face. Shame he could never lead Toronto to a Stanley Cup championship but the love he got from his fans and the city of Toronto seemed more than enough for him. Congratulations Mats Sundin!

It’s funny how 2 special players and 2 special human beings from Sweden have defined what it is to be a Maple Leaf.
Ladies and gentlemen..a big welcome to Mats Sundin and the late great Mr. Salming .
These 2 guys are 1000% real men and 2000 % legend .

I was there
Wouldn’t miss it
I named my son after him

As Swede I admire many Swedish hockey players, Peter Forsberg, Börje Salming, Niklas Lidström, Henrik Lundqvist, Daniel Alfredsson and the Sedin brothers to name a few, but Mats Sundin will forever be my favourite icehockey player, of any nation! ❤️🇸🇪🍁🇨🇦

I was there
Great player
Great captain
Awesome guy

my favorite player of all time. go leafs

The one special trait that Mats had (one of many) is that he never placed himself above the team while as captain. Thank God I saw this man play...next stop, Hall of Fame!

The real captain of the maple leafs Thank you Mats

You're the best Mats!! Thankyou for all these years!!

Such a great player and a great leader; I remember a game where he scored twice and then had a good scoring chance for a hattrick but a better chance to pass and he chose to pass. That pretty much sums it up; does not get much better than that. One of those great Swedes !

Greetings from Finland, great player and great adversary...

Best player ever! Thankyou Mats!
