It sits eighteen kilometers northwest of Fort Macleod, Alberta, where the Porcupine Hills meet the edge of the Great Plains. The cliff is sandstone, stained and weathered, reaching eleven meters at its highest point.

Below it, the ground holds bones, not scattered bones, but dense, compressed, stratified beds of bone extending more than eleven meters straight down. That's deeper than the cliff itself.
