Richard Smith is on the left and Rory Hoffman is on the right.. Rory Hoffman is blind. All three are absolutely amazing! Great reaction!

Love these videos - thanks for sharing, Frank 👍👍👍

Ah, what an outstanding performance, Joscho is obscene good, I've been saying he's the best for a decade, nice to see the world is catching up to him.

Richard Smith, world champion finger-style guitarist! (literally)  Joscho Stephan... well what can you possibly say about arguably the greatest gypsy jazz guitarist on the planet.  Rory Hoffman plays the guitar on his lap because he's blind and found that way to be easier than the traditional way.  Rory also plays at least 65 musical instruments -- woodwinds, everything with strings including the piano, and, by the way, is a mind boggling accordion player, including jazz accordionist.  If that weren't enough, he sings respectably, and is a great whistler!

Also known as the Trans-Atlantic Guitar Trio. I've seen them three times, don't miss them if they're within two time zones of your location.

Since I've seen Rory's TED talk, I can say something about his playing. He started playing very young and the guitar was too big and heavy for him to hold, so he put it on his lap. But, since he is blind, he never saw how other people played the guitar and he just kept playing this way.
Joscho is German and he even has some gypsy ancestry, but he says that has nothing to do with him getting into gypsy jazz. Rory is American and Richard is originally from the UK, but he lives in the US, as far as I know.

if you have not already seen it Richard Smith playing the entertainer ( the one with Tommy Emmanuel watching ) is an absolute must see!

Rory Hoffman plays like he's playing a lapsteel because he's blind; it's better to play that way because you feel the frets better for positioning

It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing…7:45
