Dave Roberts fired up the Dodgers’ veteran “Dinosaurs” before the clubhouse erupted into a champagne celebration following their NLDS victory over the Braves.
After Miguel Rojas toasted the complete team effort, Roberts reminded everyone that the ultimate job remains unfinished.
“We have eight more wins.”
Roberts praised the Dodgers’ toughness, experience and willingness to embrace any role, highlighting Kiké Hernández, Mookie Betts, Edwin Díaz and team captain Freddie Freeman.
“We understand that the job’s not done. We have eight more wins.”
The Dodgers manager discussed:
Remaining focused with eight wins still needed
Every player being ready for his postseason moment
The organization’s depth from top to bottom
Playing every game with elimination-level intensity
Kiké Hernández accepting whatever role the team needed
Mookie Betts setting the tone against Chris Sale
Edwin Díaz fighting back from injury and Triple-A
Freddie Freeman’s offense and crucial defense
The entire organization contributing to the NLDS victory
The team’s ultimate championship destination
Roberts called the Dodgers the most talented team in baseball and praised their intelligence, ability and toughness.
The clubhouse then erupted as players sprayed champagne and celebrated punching their ticket to the NLCS. The Dodgers now await the winner of the Brewers-Padres series.
