Can wait for the 12 hour long video on every shelf in Crash Course

I really hope the absurd random alarm car will become a running gag for the series.

I burst out laughing just at seeing the alarm car on the starting roof.

I cant wait to see the survivors standing on an alarmed car when spawning on crash course

Chapter 3's sewers, with the lights leading you to the end, is actually commented on in the developer commentary! They mention that players would move towards brightly lit areas, so they used that to subtly guide you through the level with lighting!

as I've been saying since forever. No Mercy is the survivor's map and Blood Harvest is the infected's

The Alarm Cars of Doom and Despair.

On a more serious comment: Having played L4D2 after Payday 2, it felt weird to me seeing how 1 to 1 Mercy Hospital was. Like, you'd think there'd be adjustments to the design considering the different games, but seeing it almost identical in L4D was really cool to me.

Burger Tank prices got me crying and punching the air.

Adding input from a Expert realism player. On chapter 2, it's quite rare to actually go the entire level without tier 2's spawning in. If this happens, chapter 3 at least has a tier 2 shotgun/rifle/sniper spawn of any kind in the garage in-front of the saferoom. When it comes towards the scissor lift event on the third chapter, running it is actually safer until you get towards the sewers exit where the hospital entrance is. This is mostly due to the fact that all the commons are stuck behind the players and not spawning in-front of them. I should also mention that the gas station has a prop health of 100, so two sniper shots or single bolt action shots will instantly destroy them. You can use a sniping spot underneath the tipped over truck to get a angle all the way from burger tank and early destroy it.

If you want a good camping spot, sitting on-top of the scissor lift whilst one player camps the ladder is perfect. Specials will tend to spawn in and straight up de-spawn because they are too far away from the players. I've heard of other spots previously, but sitting the scissor lift seems to be the most reliable. Despite the spot might be hard to camp, you only really need a player watching in-front and up-top to stop flanking commons from above the players.

Some notable tier 3 spawns you missed in your video. In Chapter three, in the rooms you suggested not to check, an m60 has a small chance to spawn there. In the room next to the gas station, it can also spawn there. In the sewers, it also has a chance to spawn there. Level one contains two spawns for a chainsaw, one behind the metro entrance and one in the room to the left of the player after exiting the main apartment building. On the finale you can actually get an m60 spawn in the end room. Whilst extremely rare, I've seen it happen around 3-4 times or so. Two grenade launchers will also 100% spawn all the time except for versus. A grenade launcher can also spawn on chapter 4 as well, but like the finale's spawn, it's rare and normally never seen by the average player.

One tip for the finale. If a player is downed and then boomed, have a player mount the turret and randomly shoot in a direction. Due to how tank aggro works, a player mounted on a minigun actually has more aggro then a vomited survivor. This can be used to save someone that is either down or horded by the commons. In fact a lot of levels are like this. Death Toll boat house is the same and Dead Air runway all have miniguns that can be used to exploit the aggro system on the tank. You can even just lure the tank over and distract it from other weaker players.

I love the video man, super informative. Whilst I don't like the idea of blocking paths off or car alarm RNG, it's a good concept to think about. And yes, despite the hospital setting, there are no defibrillators at all throughout the entire campaign. Despite the name "No Mercy" I've seen this to be the most forgiving/fair map towards new players alike. I find this much easier then Dead Center as that has multiple running crescendos and a scavenge finale, which are harder to do with a uncoordinated team. Definitely waiting to all of the maps though.

I swear the ai director refused to let me and my friends complete this level after we beat it about thirty times. That mfer goes hard if you play too well

"I misspoke, when I said 'No Mercy' what I meant was 'No ...Mercy."

23:51 I will say I almost consistently find laser sights on the side tunnel near the dead survivor.

Love that we have the cinematic intro shots and then the zombie who just kinda stumbles out from behind the pillar before suddenly dead dropping

Section 1 of chapter 1 showcases excellent examples to demonstrate the door mechanic, wall mechanics, walking mechanic, decision mechanic, resource management, shooting mechanic, standing mechanic, aiming mechanic, flashlight mechanic, healing mechanic, crouching mechanic, jumping mechanic, etc.

19:53 Not the $4.00 ssa-whoopin' Lmfao. Love that.

Beautiful video, there’s very little “map” content for games and this scratches a very particular itch.

I think you have a good balance of talking about previous versions of the maps, discussing strats, layout changes, and cool details. Only complaint is I want more and there’s not more yet.

Graveyard posting I know, but I was playing No Mercy on advanced and tried the air conditioning trick to skip the apartments, naturally I slid off the invisible wall and died. After I respawned I peeked back over the edge to see if maybe I just fudged the jump and there was a tank down there that climbed up onto the roof to fight us.

Never had that happen to me before and later read it had to be a bug because it is disabled in the code for the first chapter.

Me personally I like to play with the l4d1 coop mutation when playing l4d1 maps because it was built around all the 1 assets, not 2. Especially when it comes to specials, there are many spitter spots that can easily destroy everyone's health and I don't think they thought about chargers when designing the mercy hospital roof
