The Truth About Democratic Socialism: A Warning From History | JR the TexpatOTG
Politics isn’t usually my scene, but seeing the rise of the "Democratic Socialists of America" forced me to speak up. You can't just throw the word "democratic" in front of "socialism" and think it’s going to work for America. History has shown us time and time again how these experiments end.
In this video, I look back at what I heard on college campuses way back in 1967 and compare it to today's progressive push—from universal healthcare and the 32-hour work week to the $1.86 trillion student debt relief debate and the Green New Deal. Drawing from my own years of living in Vietnam and working in Sweden, I break down the massive difference between a free capitalist society with social programs and an actual state-controlled system.
Don't go to the polls blind. Look at the service record of these ideas, read your history, and let’s talk about what’s really at stake for our culture and our Constitution.
