James Toney who was pfp top 3 at the time fought 7 times in 1993 acquiring 4 stoppages and 3 UD. In today's boxing we are lucky if the elite guys fight once a year. James Toney at 160-168 was a problem

You can tell that James didn't like him by watching the faceoff. This was one of Toney's best performances.

James Toney is one of the best fighters I have ever seen.

This is one of those fights you can watch over & over again

James Toney was the second best if not the best fighter in the 1990s just behind Roy Jones. He defeated guys like Nunn, Reggie Johnson, McCallum and Barkley. He is imo one of the most under appreciated fighters.

"Yo, as bad as my face is, whoever this cat at the gate is makes my face feel betta. I feel betta, man."

- Charlie Murhpy (Doing an impression of Barkley, a day after this fight. Barkley flew directly to Eddie Murphy's mansion after losing and witnessed one of Eddie and Charlie's drunk crazy friends get jumped by thier entire entourage and keep coming back for more.)

I wish James Toney had been more disciplined and controlled his weight issues because man he was spectacular to watch from 160-168 lbs.

James Toney is my favorite and, not to overblow it because Iran Barkley was absolutely MADE for James Toney, but this was up there with the Jirov fight, for me, as the absolute best of James Toney. A brilliant fighter he was.
