I've never had any issues with any of my N scale rapido items, here at the bottom of the world where you need to get a mortgage for a new item like that as the shipping is adding 80$ to the already expensive cost, we make do with whatever we can find. I've never come across technical issues that would warrant me having to send it back stateside for repair at my expense, I would rather send it to my 'local' dcc specialist instead. Nice item, enjoy.
same my dude i just got mine a couple days ago the speaker sounds horrible so you're not the only one to have this issue i have to call the company soon because i have another model y them with stuttering issues the rs-18u
Kudos on your video! Just a couple of things, though. 1) You spent a large part of the first half of your video complaining about the speaker rattle, but then never mentioned what you did to fix it. I had to read through the comments to find out it was the fans rattling and you glued them. 2) The side railings popping off straight out of the box is legit; but how do you know you didn't pop out the end rails with all of the disassembly you did? Sometimes they'll pop off - even if glued - by just rolling a loco around in a foam cradle. I'm not sure Rapido should be blamed for that.
i have had to send my nrex geep back to rapido 2 times, once for a failed number board light and the other was for a headlight failure. everyone ( lystra and leslie) were VERY nice, as usual, but what a pain in the ass to have to ship it 2 times for problems !! question... did the handrail actually have "receiver holes" in the side of the walkway for the small tabs on the bottom of the stanchions ? you never showed us the receiving holes and just left the handrail pressed against the outer walkway. if there are no holes in the shell, that is a major problem.... if the holes are there, you are making a big deal about absolutely zero !! please clarify !!
I have many Rapido diesels and about 25% arrive with loose parts that have to be reattached. No big deal yet, just time consuming to get parts back on.
Sounds like the gain is too high. Many of my N scale models arrive like this, with the master volume set so high that the internal audio amplifier clips and distorts. Try turning it down about 30% or more. I agree that the headlight should be yellow-ish on older locomotives. They didn't have bright white LED's in the 1960's and they were almost certainly incandescent. You might try a yellow filter if there is a place to put it.
