When my Network Engineering job added an AI widget to our CRM dashboard that was supposed to "help" us by finding quicker solutions to problems and would eventually be customer facing we soon realized that it was meant to replace our jobs. This was in 2017. We were all encouraged to use it with queries and fill in proper answers so it could learn. Of course our team did NOT give it correct information but kept feeding it all the wrong answers. After around 5 years the project went nowhere because the AI kept getting worse from all the bad data.

The young man who uses customer requests to mess up AI bots is a hero. He got one of them into an endless loop saying “Albuquerque”. Hopefully that data helped to corrupt the training model.

Benn Jordan is working on a masking algorithm for music that sounds totally normal for humans, but completely garbled for AI. Everyone should be using this.

I'm 73 and certainly remember the glory and freedom when DARPANET became Internet. Young folks, you've got the skills and need to reclaim that freedom. Go for it.

Fortunately "AI" (quotes mandatory) is poisoning itself. I own a company that provides clinical mental health services. Our clinical director used shat-GPT to generate a list of references to review for an article she was about to write. 10 responses. All 10 were hallucinated. 3 months ago she did the same thing for another article. At that time only 2 of 10 references were hallucinated. She's gone back to PubMed and Google scholar. She also now has to check all of the references in any article printed since 2023 because hallucinated references have become part of the corpus of work. "AI" has already poisoned the internet. Models are now training on each other's invalid output. This is a mess.

I was so excited when the internet became available; I could finally do research without a trip to the library and check multiple independent sources. Today, we have something much worse than NO information: we have FALSE "facts" hallucinated by AI..

Apparently it takes a relatively small number of these ‘poisoned data’s’ to irreversibly corrupt an Ai.
There was a study that found as little as two hundred in a data set of millions kept perpetuating incorrect outputs from the AI.

For many years, paper map publishers have intentionally put errors in their maps to catch copyright infringement. What you are proposing is perfect.

They've done the same thing with photography, stolen people's photos to train AI that is now being advertised to replace the very photographers whose work they stole. Its gross.
