I don't use Google anymore, but the worst search is YouTube. Even putting in the exact words will show only the latest American pop song with a similar name.

I switched when I realized most of Google's search results were from Reddit and Quora instead of topic-specific, authoritative sites.

Yall remember the "I'm feeling lucky" button? It would take you to a random website. That's what Google is now. No matter what you put in the bar it just shows random results.

I actually hate that current search engines try to rephrase your input to be more generic, even the actual words into something that rhymes or looks similar, absolutely horrible.
If I typed something I want that thing, and if something is so generic that it becomes a default I PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW IT

0:34 I can confirm this. I used a different search engine asking what the best gel stains are and got lots of articles and settled on one that named the top five. This was one guy's opinion. While it was reasonable, it was not the only opinion available but Gemini AI simple returned this same five ranking word for word with no context, as though it had carefully reviewed huge amounts of data and drawn this conclusion.

I am fed up with google "correcting" my search terms to random stuff that is unrelated to the actual search. You can't even click on it to revert to what you ACTUALLY TYPED.

It's so comical that when you search for a phone number in google, it sometimes says "we did not find any results for that phone number, but here are some other phone numbers you may like"
