Fun Fact: The programmer of NBA JAM TE for 32X was Steve Snake, who later went on to program the KGen/Kega/Kega Fusion emulators, which were widely regarded as the best Genesis emulators until recent versions of Picodrive and Genesis Plus GX finally surpassed it. Absolute legend.
virtua fighter was extremely impressive at the time. it was one of the first truly 3d games that most of us got to play, because it was in a ton of arcades.
The pitfall sequel being so aware of the previous game is so damn funny and cool, makes me wish there was a new pitfall game with the grandson being a 3d character while og and his son remain like those sprites
The 32X actually came with a plastic spacer that attached to the bottom of the add-on. This extended the part that sits flush on a model 1, and allowed it to then sit flush on a model 2. It’s kinda like the weird extension block for the model 2 Sega CD that makes it so the model 1 Genesis doesn’t hang over the edge.
Basically, whoever owned that 32x previously either only ever used it on a model 1, or just lost the spacer for some other reason.
2:40 The metal pieces were “RF shields”, they’re not needed in most cases unless you’re getting RF interference which you’re probably not getting, they did nothing else. What you need is the plastic shim that slipped onto the 32X and took up the space between the 32X and the Genesis model 2.
