In a world of infinite possibilities , everything lined up exactly as it did entirely unscripted. You couldn’t write something this narratively satisfying

its honestly insane how close Mankey and Swindy came to stopping Gibson

I have almost 0 context for this and it was still extremely tense lmao

Gibson was such an excellent villain in that they were the perfect balance of fully earnest that what they’re doing is right and also genuinely an asshole to everyone in unnecessary ways. I wanted that lil raccoon to get wrung like a dog’s chew toy BUT at the same time Gibson wove such an interesting and compelling narrative for their point of view that even now there are fans that insist Gibson’s methods were correct despite the entire world proving it was wrong LOL. In another life it would have been cool to see what ending could have been achieved if the nukes never happened, and thus the hard black and white “pro or anti balloon” rhetoric hadn’t taken off. More Elfwood trees, negotiation and diplomacy, and a balance of accepting the cycle and resisting the end before it is actually time… maybe a deal could have been struck if they had freed the End quickly, so that the balloons would only take everyone to the next world after they’d all had a chance to live and die on their own. And yet, it’s sooo indicative of humanity that it split into those who refuse to accept fate to a radical degree that they reject nature, and those who embrace fate to the detriment of their individuality and choices. GODDDD

Everything lined up so perfectly. Gibson getting the cloak early, walking to Team A base, Soma distracting everyone at the perfect time for Gibson to just sneak into their portal, which they then resealed to keep themselves out longer, taking the perfect amount of time for Gibson to get all the way through the highway without being caught except by Beepers, who they wanted to join them anyway, getting wood for the pressure plate from the seats, Team A getting stopped by Beepers' boat AND zombie pigmen in the way, Beepers distracting the first person through the portal, getting all the way up to set off the nuke with seconds to spare, and Team A only arriving in time to see the bomb go off in front of them. Cinema.

going from watching woops' pov of all of this to seeing gibsons is insane, this person got to the caldera because of soma distracting the rest of team A and even with how long it took skull to figure out and convince the others they barely didn't make it on time (it's also nice to see gibsons side of the argument since they never really got the point across during the meetings later on)

the SINGULAR big threat at this point in the smp makes for so much foreshadowing it's simultaneously hilarious and horrifying
