Being a Glaswegian myself I welcome the kindred spirit of the Liverpudlian Prof Ashton. We need more people like that and Miss Letby has yet another champion

A regional dIrector of public health, the worlds leading neonatologists including world authority in air embolisms, the worlds leading insulin specialists, leading medical statistitions, national police lead on healthcare deaths, UK former Health Minister and countless more relevant experts can not all be wrong. If the state still continues to keep an innocent nurse locked up because a rougue doctor spun lies for money to twelve random non medical jurers, then it is no better than a pariah state. Government and Judiciary should hang their heads in SHAME for their cowardly and frankly disgusting inability to act and free Lucy Letby now. They may hide behind legal process but they can not hide behind a history which will judge them with contempt.

Everything that has come to light is SCREAMING innocence. The people in authority who have the power to put this right and quash the wrongful convictions Lucy has suffered need to listen to proper experts like Prof. Ashton, Dr Shoo Lee and his panel of experts and many, many others. It’s an absolute disgrace that Lucy continues to be held in prison whilst the CCRC continues to delay sending this back to the CoA.

In common with most people who have serious concerns with Lucys case, Prof. Ashton is knowledgeable,intelligent and instantly likeable. Quite a contrast to the guilters who cling to the post it notes, handover sheets and hurl insults to anyone who thinks differently.
Another brilliant interview.
