Fun fact: Kuat Drive Yards essentially got away with it.

After all the profiteering of the Clone Wars, they got to loot all the Separatist shipyards for free

In the Galactic Civil War, the Drive Yards got so much god damned money that they nearly BANKRUPTED THE GALAXY. 25K Imperial Star Destroyers, over 50 Super Star Destroyers, multiple superweapons…

During the post-Endor fighting, Kuat got hit pretty hard, with devastating raids destroying lots of infrastructure and dead-hand contingencies detonating explosives in the rings and sending the three Battlecruisers guarding her streaking into the system’s sun in hyperspace.  More raids, by criminal cartels and Imperial Warlords, dealt further damage, even stealing the last Executor-class formally produced by the Empire.

But after that? After all the slavery, theft and evil Kuat Drive Yards profited from? They got fat paychecks and kept building ships for the New Republic. Five TRILLION more credits to Kuat Drive Yards.

"my senator friend from Naboo just told me to invest in Kuat Drive Yards"

A TRILLION CREDITS TO KUAT DRIVE YARDS RIGHT NOW!

So basically, Kuat Drive Yards was the ultimate winner of Star Wars.

"Venator's are so unreasonably cool"

Breaking news: Water found in ocean.

The venator is one of the last primarchs confirmed

Watching Revenge of the Sith as a kid and seeing how cool the Venator’s were during the battle of Courasant permanently rewired my brain. Another trillion credits for the Republic Navy

10:50 I love the insinuation that all of commerce in the outer rim was being personally interrupted and raided by Hondo or that he somehow lived for thousands of years.

His mother really did raise him right.

“FOR THE REPUBLIC” - me doing donuts in a preschool parking lot

17:51 fun fact: the back half of the Invisible Hand crashed into a bar called the Back Half and the owner used the remains to built  a new bar, the Invisible Hand Cantina. The Back Hand would have been a better name.

Triple the defense budget, more Venators are needed.

In the Armada tabletop game, Venators could reduce their hanger capacity to represent them mounting Artillery guns in their hangers and firing them at the enemy. Because even in space artillery is the king of battle, and Hail to the King

Remember kids no matter how much detail and effort into a design you put into a ship you cannot beat a triangle with guns

“I want my capital ships to fight like they’re in a pirates of the Caribbean movie”

There are surprisingly few ship battles in those 5 movies about pirates

alternate title: Republic propaganda 2: Venator boogaloo

The AT-TE is so fucking beautiful I can’t even express, the GAR has such beautiful machines

Few fun facts about Old Republic ships and fighters
The Hammerhead was the single most produced ship for thousands of years because of how damn versatile it was while still being ultra capable.
The Aurek starfighter, which is the fighter you see in KOTOR, was still being produced and seeing service during the Clone Wars more than five thousand years after it was first created by, you guessed it, Kuat Drive Yards.

Is this man's dream to be topped by an Eldar on the command deck of Venater? it's likely one of his dreams

I like the Venator because it was made by people who know exactly what setting they're in and exactly how to win in context of it.  Star Wars is a setting that completely revolves around plot armor and so the space combat essentially comes down completely to the antics of plucky little heroes doing stunts, especially in starfighters.  So the Venator has not one but TWO bridges for main characters to stand on and a huge hangar full of many, many starfighters which plucky little heroes can use to make a laughingstock of entire fleets of super weapons.  And on top of all that, it even has a couple nice big guns, for whenever those are useful.

The ISD has schizophrenia and somehow thinks it lives in an alternate dimension where the entirety of space combat does not come down to plucky little heroes doing stunts in starfighters and it keeps failing because of it, while the Venator embraces the reality it lives in and shamelessly builds itself around succeeding and excelling in such a real reality.
