Welcome to Skyrim: Gate to Sovngarde — expanded with Legacy Lite and Community Edition for a massive 2,200+ mod setup.
Tonight we’re diving into one of the most heavily modded versions of Skyrim I’ve ever played, built around immersion, roleplaying, exploration, survival, and a world that feels much more alive.
🗺️ OUR ROLEPLAY – THE RELIC HUNTER
This playthrough will have a strong roleplaying focus. Our character is not setting out simply to become the Dragonborn, clear every dungeon, or rush through Skyrim’s main quest.
We will be playing as a relic hunter, explorer, and field agent recruited to assist the Dragonborn Museum in Solitude.
Our job is to travel across Skyrim and beyond in search of lost artifacts, ancient weapons, forgotten books, archaeological discoveries, historical treasures, and anything else worthy of preservation in the museum.
Nordic tombs, Dwemer ruins, abandoned forts, caves, forgotten temples, old battlefields, and remote corners of Skyrim all become potential archaeological sites.
Every expedition has a purpose.
We are not just entering a dungeon because a quest marker tells us to. We are entering because there may be a relic buried inside that has been forgotten for centuries.
When we uncover a rare weapon, ancient artifact, unusual book, or piece of Skyrim’s history, the goal will often be to return it to the museum rather than sell it to the nearest merchant.
Over time, the Dragonborn Gallery will become a physical record of the entire playthrough. Every display will represent somewhere we traveled, something we survived, or a piece of history we recovered.
New lands, ruins, questlines, caves, artifacts, dungeons, and encounters all become part of our work as a relic hunter.
We will take contracts, follow rumors, investigate old texts, speak with scholars, explore dangerous ruins, recover lost treasures, and gradually build our reputation as one of the museum’s most capable explorers.
Our adventures may eventually pull us into much larger events, including Skyrim’s civil conflict, ancient prophecies, Daedric threats, dragons, and the mystery surrounding our own character.
But we are beginning with a much simpler purpose:
Explore. Discover. Recover. Preserve.
And hopefully survive long enough to bring the relics home.

Created by JaySerpa, Gate to Sovngarde is a huge Skyrim mod collection centered around “Immersion and Roleplaying in a Dynamic World.”
Rather than completely replacing Skyrim’s identity, GTS builds on the original game with deeper roleplaying, expanded quests, new adventures, survival mechanics, more dangerous combat, alternate starts, character origins, improved NPC behavior, reactive world changes, camping, injuries, stress and fear systems, expanded crafting, magic, exploration, graphics, audio, and much more.
The collection also integrates major quest and new-land mods such as Wyrmstooth, Vigilant, Project AHO, Meridia’s Order, Undeath, and many others.
🏛️ LEGACY LITE
Legacy Lite brings Legacy of the Dragonborn into the Gate to Sovngarde experience.
At the center of Legacy is the Dragonborn Gallery in Solitude, where the weapons, armor, artifacts, books, relics, and other discoveries from your adventures can be displayed.
It turns exploration and collecting into a major part of the playthrough while also adding quests, archaeological expeditions, relic hunting, and the Explorer’s Society.
Instead of simply selling rare items, we can build a museum that documents the entire journey.
⚔️ GTS COMMUNITY EDITION
Community Edition expands GTS while staying close to its original vision.
It adds another layer of atmosphere, visuals, environmental audio, dragons, creatures, horse systems, navigation improvements, world detail, quality-of-life additions, gameplay refinements, and other community-selected enhancements.
