My personal favorite wife in Skyrim is Temba Wide-arm, the miller in Ivarstead. After you complete her quest and marry her, if you move into one of the Hearthfire homes you'll occasionally receive the "kidnapping" radiant quest and have to go rescue her. When you arrive, there's a chance that Temba will already have the dungeon boss subdued and captured, wherein she berates you for taking so long to come and save her. Idk, I just think it's funny and charming that the Dragonborn marries a normal-ass woman who can potentially defeat vampire lords and bandit chiefs with her bare hands.

Lydia was there from the beginings. She will be there at the end.

The first time I married Mjoll she brutally murdered Aerin outside my Hjaalmarch house, then immediately went into her "Aerin and I used to take long walks in the Rift"....dialogue. It was hilarious!

I like how Muiri knows that you're a dark brotherhood assassin. She knows what you're about and still wants to marry you. Imagine telling any of the other marriage options that you're a ruthless murderer. Most of them would leave your ass for sure.

It's worth remembering that Lydia could not be married on release. When it was patched in later official word was that they were correcting a mistake rather than adding it in as a function.

Real men marry Borgakh the Steel Heart

My top skyrim waifu is Sylgja.
She's perfect for a wholesome dragonborn, or a freaky dragonborn.
I say this because on top of Sylgja being a real sweetheart, her mother Annekka is a follower who can be your steward. So on the more wholesome end you get a loving wife and a live-in mother-in-law who thinks you're great. Then on the freaky end you get a mother-daughter combo.

My personal head canon.
is that i married Ysolda. She runs a secret merchant operation with the Kajjit Caravans. selling all the useless loot i horde/make all over Tamriel. And stashes the profits for when i retire from adventuring. So we can live a life raisings kids in extreme comfort.
