For decades, minimalist archaeologists claimed that the great kingdom of David and Solomon was a late myth or, at best, an insignificant tribal leadership. However, recent discoveries have shattered these theories, demonstrating that the tenth-century biblical accounts have an undeniable historical basis. The first blow to skepticism came with the Tel Dan Stele in 1993, which provided evidence of enemy recognition of the House of David. Subsequently, excavations at Khirbet Qeiyafa revealed an imposing frontier city dating to the year 1000 with a complex administration, Hebrew writing, and clear Israelite food taboos, proving the existence of an organized state. Furthermore, astonishing models of shrines and entire temples were found that match the complex architectural description of Solomon's Temple with remarkable precision. To these irrefutable proofs are added the colossal identical gates found in Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer, the gigantic copper industrial operation in the Timna mines, and the immense walls of David's palace in the heart of Jerusalem. In short, modern archaeology has spoken with great clarity, confirming to the world that a unified, sophisticated, and powerful kingdom truly existed, forcing radical skepticism to surrender to the overwhelming truth of the stones.
