The last shot of her in the window as the family moves out is so sad.

Alice walking away to find her own corpse is one of the most haunting ideas i've seen in horror. And it's so well executed, for me personally it added so much more than 6%

The fact that the final 10 seconds rose the scare score from 48% to 61% shows how unsettling the film truly is. To me, THIS is one of the best and scariest found footage.
But only thing scarier, is why hasn't this channel become more recognised yet?! I hope more people can check Horror Mine out!

Seeing your own ghost is kinda insane

Alice's family never tried to pay attention to Alice and her personal issues when she was alive, and even after Alice turned into a ghost, her presence was still neglected by her family. It's kinda tragic if you think about it. Parents should really take care of their children and notice them when they need help.

It's like Noroi without the chaos. Woah

This is what missing from our current horror movie industry, no exposition dump, no cheap jump scare, and no antagonist to be against with. the highest point of this movie I think the ambiance and nuances the movie gives, it makes you so infested, as if you watching a missing late night program that aired when everyone at your home asleep only you stumble into this program which is very eerie for me. once again thank you very much for covering such amazing movie, didn't know this movie exist before you cover truly great work, looking forward for your another scare score !

As someone who has basically watched every horror movie there is. None has left such a big impact on me as lake mungo. One of the best horror movies.

Alice Phone Video scene scared the hell out of me when I saw it the first time, I can feel chills all over my body omg 🥲 There's nothing too dramatic here but it gets disturbing when they highlight the ghost sightings

There are a lot definitions of 'The scariest horror film', Lake Mungo is one of them, at least for me. I remember being left terrified for a few weeks.

The final revelation of the girl being there all along without anyone actually noticing it will always give me chills. Such a rewarding horror film, one of THE best fake documentaries out there🖤🖤🖤

Side note: can you consider making a Scare Score of the British horror film, The Borderlands? I'm SURE you will like it👀🙏🏼

It's interesting that horror can be very genuine when it focuses on grief

I just felt really, really sad for Alice. This was terrifyingly devastating, knowing she'll be left all alone in that house--- trapped, after her family moved. That her mom was leaving her came with a sense of finality and she will never really see her again.

Eerie, haunting, but not "scary" like most modern audiences understand as scary. This is one of those rare horror movies that scared my soul at the possibilities of what may exist after death.

whoa... non asian horror, dude are you okay?)

I have seen theories that Matthew wanted Alice exhumed, so his mother had another chance of identifying her, because his mom was suffering from her decision not to identify the body. Doesn't make it right, obviously, but he might have done it wanting to help.

To me.. this and Noroi are a personal kind of creepiness.

What makes me so sad about this is that, her ghost isn't left at the lake, where she died.  It was left in that home.  Her family left, and the house that hosted her abuse just nearby.  It's SO SAD.

I remember watching this for the first time last year, gave it a 6/10 as I felt that after the reveal of it being faked it lost momentum, then 2 days later changed it to an 8. The reason? It stayed with me, I was anxious to look at pitch black, i was looking at the corners in every dark room.

Turns out, i loved it, and am sure ill give it a higher score on a rewatch.

One of the deepest scares I've gotten from a movie. I love "Lake Mungo". Super underrated.
