The AK is a pretty easy gun to learn how to operate. But if you're new to shooting, or just new to AKs, you could probably use a few pointers. We go over the absolute basics of how to safely load, unload, aim, and fire an AK type rifle or carbine with step-by-step instructions and live fire demo.

These basics apply to most AK-47, AKM, and AK-74 style rifles, including common models like the WASR-10, Zastava, and Arsenal. We also cover how to work the safety selector, how to use and adjust the iron sights, and how to reload.

AKs and even SKS are still common in many parts of the world. So important for people to know how to use them. Funny but the original Red Army manuals always encouraged full auto bursts as part of massed charges to suppress and close with the enemy. But AKs are still a great platform.

The safety is stiff - because the thinking behind it was that the soldier will spend more time carrying or living with the rifle. Plus if you go through bushes or vegetations the "easy going" safety can and have disengaged and if you got the one in chamber well you get the idea.
