No remake of Sound of Music!
The original never can be topped.

There are certain movies you can never remake.  The Sound of Music is at the top of the list!

Oh, hell no. Please don’t let them do a remake of this iconic film! Leave it as it is. You cannot improve perfection!

I love this film. I can watch it over and over

My grandfather was Austian. He left Austria right before WWI, to NYC. Eventually he moved to Mexico and then to Honduras. He married and started a family in Honduras, never returning to Austia. My father took my grandfather to the movies in 1965 to watch the Sound of Music. He wept during the mountain scenes, remembering his beautiful homeland, where he could never return to. He died shortly after. Our family has watched the Sound of Music countless times, it's our family movie. We love it! We even visited Salzburg with my Dad about 22 years ago, and did a Sound of Music tour.

Back in the days of 3 television channels, I could count on seeing  "The Sound of Music"  every Christmas season.

NEVER remake it! It's totally perfect as it is. I'm 67 and have loved it since my parents took us to a cinema in Edinburgh to see it when it first came out. We had to book our seats!

Only those of us who were around in the early 1960s can truly comprehend the impact this film had on the entire world. It was in cinemas literally for years, and many people returned to see it again and again. Whole families would go along, from grandparents to little kids. The soundtrack album was the biggest selling of all time, outselling The Beatles and the Rolling Stones.  Blockbuster films today spend maybe a couple of months in cinemas then are readily available to view on DVD, Blu-ray or stream at home.  In the 1960s, to see The Sound of Music people had to buy tickets in advance and go to the cinema, which they did in their millions.  The only film which had such a major impact before The Sound of Music was Gone With the Wind. Both are timeless classics and their success will never be equalled.

My lovely Mama took me to see Sound of Music after a doctor's appointment I had gotten out of school for.  I'll never forget how my rule-abiding mama made an exception, and we went to see this beautiful movie instead of returning me back to school that day. It really taught me how important the arts and music is in our lives. 💛😊

The moments no amount of money can buy nor recreate. ❤

My friends and I went to Salzburg in 2019.  We sang Do, re, me as we walked through the gates, around the fountain and up the stairs. So many people joined in, it was GREAT.

I'm a 66 year old man. Not particularly the musical type, but this was the first movie I ever saw at the cinema on a school bus excursion in Brisbane Australia.
I still love it.

Oh my! 60 years! I was 11 when I saw this movie with my mom and dad. Very special memory indeed! I’ve watched it at least 30 times in my lifetime so far!! Love it love it love it! 🥰🏔️🎶

I LOVE this movie. NO remake EVER. You can NEVER improve or change perfection.

The Sound of Music....a classic. ❤

My dad was stationed in Germany and my parents and I took The Sound of Music tour. We went to the cathedral where the wedding scene was filmed, saw the hill where Julie Andrews kept getting knocked down due to the helicopter, and saw the Schloss Leopoldskron and the gazebo. I saw The Sound of Music at the Ziegfield theater in 2010 and it was a great experience. Living in Germany was a wonderful experience and I wish that I had appreciated it more. I am so Grateful that The Sound of Music exists.

This is a movie that need not be touched.  It made history when it was made and is still making history.  It was the 1st movie my Grandmother saw in theater. You can’t crush that moment for me.  The Sound of Music is still loved today, just as it is.

I just turned 50 and I grew up watching The Sound of Music every year. I carried on the tradition with my kids and still do with my grandchildren.
Timeless movie ❤

I was at the Gala last week (and was there for the 50th) such a special memory singing Edelweiss in the exact location. Thank you to all the cast for being such great ambassadors for this film.

I was very lucky to have been in attendance at the 60th Anniversary Gala concert in Salzburg last week. What a memorable evening it was and it was also great getting to meet you too Angela! "The Aussie in the lederhosen".
