World history has never seen an empire quite like the Ottomans. For 623 years, a dynasty that began as a small band of warriors on the edge of the Byzantine frontier grew into a superpower stretching across three continents, conquering an ancient capital, terrifying all of Europe, and outlasting almost every rival empire around it. And when it finally fell, it didn't just collapse — it was reborn as something entirely new.
This documentary explores the complete history of the Ottoman Empire, from Osman I and the empire's founding in 1299, Mehmed the Conqueror's fall of Constantinople in 1453, and the golden age of Suleiman the Magnificent, to the devshirme system, the 1683 Battle of Vienna, the long decline as "the sick man of Europe," the collapse during World War I, and the rise of the modern Republic of Turkey under Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Discover how a small frontier tribe built one of history's longest-ruling dynasties, why an entire child-levy system powered its golden age, and how its fall gave birth to one of the most unique secular nations in the Muslim world.
This documentary is based on archaeological discoveries, historical sources, and academic research. We help bring history to life while remaining faithful to the historical record.

In addition, I think it would’ve been beneficial to mention their great battles in the Balkans, the Siege of Malta, and the Naval Battle of Lepanto on their way to utter defeat at the Siege of Vienna. I think the Crimean War deserves mention.
I appreciate that you talked about the slave trade, but it could’ve used more coverage as slavery is the foundation of Islamic ideology that exists to this day. People just like to use other names for it like sex trafficking, forced labor, and child soldiers. You may have also mentioned how much the Arabs hated the Turks as the reason why they worked with the British in World War I.
