UPDATE 2/7: Hello everyone I’m so sorry once again for not responding sooner but I am once again very very sick. 😭😭 Working with kids + a weakened immune system = nothing good. I hope you will all continue to understand thank you so much for your patience 💕💕

i think they added nod krai for 2 main reasons, one was obv hype and the other was prolly to get players to know the lore, like no one but the deep lore enthusiasts knew abt the moon sisters and stuff

I personally think Nod-Krai was originally supposed to be Mondstadt expansion. But they changed it to become a separate region. This will explain why half of Nod-Krai is Mondstadt characters. And also Mondstadt literally means Moon City

Just for reference with Columbina glitching in the teaser its because (similar to arlecchino's idle) shes associated with the moon and the moons don't belong in teyvat hence the glitching out

I grief Columbina's eerie/creepy vibe. It's really a nice concept and aligns with the Fatui's initial image.

I feel like Fontaine changed the game so much, it was the turning point of genshin i believe

this isn’t about genshins lore as a whole but i wholeheartedly believe that the harbingers were rewritten. the tea party thing is such a plot hole i always try to forget it exists. arlecchino said she has little interest in sandrone and doesn’t gaf about her but no..they attend tea parties together. childe was unsettled by columbina yet he also attended the tea parties. how did he not notice shes not allat 😂 and childe said captiano doesn’t notice him but NO…they actually attend tea parties together too. such bs. childe also implied in his voicelines that sandrone dislikes him, but he’s there in the teaparty and she doesn’t mind him being there. its obvious that the harbingers were rewritten, and i think its because of the completely deranged reaction to scaramouche/wanderer. thats why the first 4 harbingers felt sm more different and threatening—signora, childe, scara, dottore, than the latter half. childe was the one harbinger whose friendly and amicable tone makes sense considering hes the youngest and the newest and the game tries to tell us multiple times that he’s different from the other harbingers. but now, i dont see how childe is different from the newer harbingers we got considering they’re all buddies with the traveler. i cant even imagine genshin showing sandrone or even arlecchino doing anything nearly as bad as childe releasing osial. obviously, hoyo’s plans changed along the way, since none of childe’s or scara’s voicelines match the newer harbingers. genshit glazers say oh they’re just unreliable narrators, but unreliable narrators isn’t just something you can pull out of your ass. it needs to serve a purpose, and its clear that it didn’t meaning they were rewritten

I don’t mind a lore change, I just wish Genshin had more variety in storytelling. I think the game having darker elements from Mondstadt-Inazuma, then picking back up on the eerie-ness in Nod Krai would have been so excellent in terms of how the game is paced. Hoyo underestimates how intelligent their core audiences are, so we just get FWIENDSHIP :3 patch after patch. It’s fine, I still love the game but ohhhh I wish some tasteful genshin horror would take place again.

Edit: I just thought about how everyone went crazy when the Caribert quest dropped. We need another moment like that.

I still feel like a simple fix for Columbina was to make her sweet and nice, but creepy on accident. It’s a win-win. She can still have the gentle and sweet personality that she has now that the devs chose, and the players can get what they were hoping for. Since she’s not human and doesn’t fully understand humans it could make sense for her to come off as unsettling, especially as a being with unknown powers.

The whole Fontaine line makes much more sense from the perspective of Neuvilette actually. He is the actual judge, he doesnt llike archonts and judges them in his voicelines, but also he has never attempted anything against heavenly principles, he was the loser in archon war. It is interesting to think that he may have been originally the main lead for fontaine instead of Furina.

2:38 venti also answers that question in the final cutscene! „Freedom, if demanded of you by a god is really no freedom at all. So come spread your wings…“

4:59 I always believed "push for folly" can be:

1. The part where the Akademiya forced everyone to believe "wisdom" is only rational and based on cold facts, and actively tried to erase the arts and the emotional/humane aspect of it; how Nilou's theather was targetted as it was deemed "useless" by Azar's administration.

2. The Akademiya's attempts to erase/become ignorant of their new god through the Akasha terminal as they cannot accept Rukkhadevata's death.

3. Going against the Rukkhadevata's rationale for "wisdom", which is to gather any form of knowledge which started to become stagnant as the scholars in the Akademiya started relying on existing information in the system rather than contributing new research.

Whose idea was that with all angel symbols Columbina suited moon goddess role.
Whose idea was that creating innocent unknowing god again is a good plan instead of giving people actual villain to be delighted of

6:36 i think what they ment by "the god of wisdom enemy is wisdom it self" is implying that the enemy of the god of wisdom(the avatar of irminsul which is Rukkha/Kusanali) is the Forbidden Knowledge that keep corrupting the irminsul

I’ll be honest,  design-wise, when I look at Columbina, I don’t blame people for thinking she was rewritten. The dove motifs don’t really make sense for a moon-like deity, especially since doves aren’t traditionally lunar symbols. If they were shaping her to be a moon goddess from the start, they could’ve chosen a different bird instead of a dove. For example, an owl would’ve made more sense, since owls are much more closely associated with the moon and the night.

Personally, I never thought she was going to be a psychopathic villain, because judging by her design in Winter Night’s Lazzo, there were never any visual hints that framed her as “evil.” Doves are commonly associated with peace, and the use of white strongly evokes purity, which makes her overall design read as gentle, sacred, or mournful rather than threatening.

If they wanted a clearer moon identity, visually incorporating elements like owls or moths, crescent shapes, a silver glow, or a sharper contrast between light and dark would’ve immediately sold the idea of a lunar figure without needing further explanation.

Doves are traditionally solar, peaceful, or religious symbols, not lunar ones. So I don't blame people for being confused.

I don’t even think the spaceship was originally planned tbh cause it doesn’t fit with the whole thing where the twins lost their powers meaning they were now trapped.

Devs stated they take 2 to 3 years to develop a new region, so nod krai was begin to made in 2023, back in sumeru , and yes they stated that nod krai was needed in order to further explain things that where too shady hidden in books that only a few hardcore explorers had acess
that means the game was retcon? i see in other perspective, i think the game was expanded, and accept as a good thing
the most out of place thing that exist in genshin that few people discuss is skirk plot, and they will not explain this plot until the end of teyvat chapter

"Teyvat has its own laws 🤓"

As a lore enjoyer I don’t necessarily care if they change the lore. But if they change it to the point where nothing adds up that’s when it matters for example the AI being HP since 4.0 we could assumed it was a AI looking back to prior quest you can still connect the dots with it being AI

Lets just say they didnt know what to do with Columbina in Natlan as she was supposed to go there just as how Sandrome was supposed to go to Fontaine.
And yeah they decided to just make Columbina the moon goddess and yeah thats it.
But i still like the Columbina we have now.
