Hey, Alan! I shared your video with Michael T. Gilbert and this is what he had to say; "Nice work! One correction though. You [Alan] said that there never was an interview with Fred Kelly. Well, not in the forties. But shortly before Kelly's death in 2005, Robert Pincombe did one. It was published in the Mr. Monster: The Original Adventures of Doc Stearne collection. That 2021 book reprinted every Fred Kelly Doc Stearne tale, as well as Fred's two Mr. Monster stories."

Knowing that the golden age creator of Mr. Monster got to see his character’s revival and appreciation for his work is so heartwarming.

Interesting. Feels like he should be leading a team like the Challengers of the Unknown.

You forgot to mention Simon Bisley's Heavy Metal Mr. Monster"Lair of the Lizard Ladies."

Yes, please do a episode on the modern Mister Monster. He's one of my favorite characters

Mr Monster was one of my favorites from Eclipse, but I had no idea his origins went so far back or that he was a Canadian creation. Liked and hyped,as usual. 👍

Fascinating! Thank you for digging into Mr. Monsters history. I have always enjoyed the modern version but knew very little of his golden age origins.

As a huge fan of Michael T. Gilbert's Mister Monster, I love this video with the deep dive into the Golden Age origins of the character. Thank you for making this!

My grandparents are from the same War generation. My grandmother had three siblings that made it out of childhood. The other four died young. Similar story for all of them.

Knowing this was common back then makes it easy to understand that generation's casual approach to death.

One of the most important characters in comics to me. Kept me a fan throughout the 80's until now. Gilbert is a genuine genius and a master of the medium 😂❤👽👺

I have to admit that I was intrigued when you mentioned Mr Monster in your previous video, so I appreciate the elaboration!

It feels odd to say, but I think that this is one of your best videos in a while. A little less professional, but that just made it seem more personable. It felt more like a conversation with a friend. And it being about an obscure Canadian comic was just gravy!

Another great deep dive! And cast my vote for demanding a thoroughly modern Mr. Monster show!

I’ve read Michael Gilbert’s Mr Monster and it’s always been one of my favorites! This is a cool overview of the golden age tales and I hope you cover the more modern stuff too. 👍🏼💙👍🏼

It's sad to see the way Fred Kelly died.Without proper appreciation for his work on Mr Monster. His design is giving me Lobster Johnson from the Hellboy universe.Lastly,Alan, you need to make a modern Mr Monster video.Cuz this got me interested in him.
