I finally finished the MG Rick Dias.
After giving up on the original dry-transfer decals, I contacted Bandai, bought a set of waterslides from Gundam Base, and finally got the decals onto the kit.
Well… mostly.
One of the decals absolutely refused to cooperate no matter what I tried, so I eventually gave up on that one too.
But once I hit it with matte top coat and put everything together, I could finally step back and see the whole kit.
This was my first time really sitting with an older Master Grade like this, and I didn’t know exactly what to expect going in. Building it made me appreciate some of the things newer Master Grades do differently—not just because someone told me they’re better, but because I actually experienced the parts of the old design that made me understand why things changed.
The dry-transfer decals were hot garbage, but overall, I’m really glad I built this one.
