I believe that Daniel/Troy having the video zoomed into Juliette's eyes, creates the thought of familiarity. There is no doubt in my mind, that Juliette is a direct descendant of Helen and Daniel, and I think that by then end of Season 4 we will seem the united. PS I just saw the Season 4 Teaser Trailer and it showed Juliette and Daniel meeting. It's a post-credit scene btw.
❤ I really am enjoying the commentary on this series from this and the Tresspass channel. Both have delivered good solid and well supported perspectives that even makes a reader of the novels think. I’ll look forward to future videos especially as we get closer to S4 next year. Thanks !
When Daniel/Troy is first awakened in this episode, there is a number on the side of the chamber - 67,834.
My possible theory is that could be the amount of total days Daniel/Troy has been in cryo-sleep. That would be almost 186 years.
Just thought I'd point that out.
What doesn't make sense is that erasing Daniel's memory also erased his morality and empathy. A soldier kills because he believes who he slays are his enemies. How he could kill thousands of unarmed people is really beyond what a soldier is ordered to do. No, I don't believe that it was his sense of duty that ordered the deaths. Victor had to convince Daniel that the directive needs to be followed beyond any sense of right or wrong. In that case, Daniel/Troy stopped being human and started being a machine.
he could have only killed a few so the others will go back inside (eventually die slowly inside the silo). but decided to let 9k+ to go outside and kill them all. cold-blooded annihalation.
The bastards in Silo 1 deserve severe punishment and in season 4 I hope they get it. Has anyone noticed how nice the living conditions are in Silo 2. Books, nice lighting, comfortable rooms and elevators.
the memory of Helen Drew is the Trojan horse to this iteration of a Troy... Silo's 2 through 6 might be where the directives elite exist in interconnected luxury
They couldn't allow them to go back inside since all 9,835 people knew that the outside air was good, and they likely wouldn't stay inside the silo. It would have caused a potential ongoing problem.
I don’t fully agree with the theory that Susan shows that there was an option to say no and Troy chose not to take it. Saying that assumes we know the level of mind-bending that was done on both of them and what part of the directive either has been trained on. We know that Daniel wouldn’t have agreed to this, so to insinuate that his personality is that of a person who would do this is wrong. Also, the sister has done more killing as a soldier than Daniel ever did; this is speculation, of course, given their two different roles in the military. Killing would come more easily to her, granted she would do it from high in the sky. I’m just saying Troy understood that letting them go back inside doesn’t solve a key rule of the regulation and maybe Susan isn’t as well versed in that rule.
I think he has to do it because the Silo 17 was flooded and that silo was dead. The people could not stay in there long because there wasn’t enough power or food to support 9000 people. They would have to leave which could lead to them coming across other silos. The thing that doesn’t make sense is someone had to find Ron Tucker’s body and why they stayed in the bowl. They should had left. They still would had gotten killed by the drones, but they may have been able to reach some of the silos which would had destroyed this experiment Stenson is playing.
There is no excuse for what Daniel has done. He chose efficiency over humanity. There is no coming back from this, and he knows it as well. Victor worked it out and thats why he neutralized himself, couldnt take guilt any longer.
