How do you stand up to the Sharpays of the world?

Licensed therapist Jonathan Decker and filmmaker Alan Seawright have got their heads back in the game… it’s High School Musical 2! It’s Sharpay’s world, and we’re just living in it. Jonathan talks about Sharpay’s wounded ego and pride and how the drama is exacerbated by teenage miscommunication. Alan is confused by how both Sharpay and the movie are horrible and great at the same time. And the editor strikes back!

"Small problems have become big problems because we've procrastinated the conversation; this is the cost of avoidance." WOW, great quote, I gotta put that on my fridge so I remember it for myself.

I have to say Ryan had the best arc in this film.

He still had his fun personality, but he went from being Sharpay’s sidekick to finding his worth and standing up for himself. He sees that he is under appreciated and wants to have his own autonomy.

I am glad Gabriella and the Wildcats allowed him to do that. And it is amazing how one baseball game made Ryan win the respect of everyone else.

And while I love HSM3’s overall soundtrack the best, “i don’t dance” is still the most iconic scene and song in the entire franchise.

Ryan becoming his own person instead of just Sharpay's shadow is my favorite thing about this movie. That, and the whole "I Don't Dance" thing.

This channel’s editor is really special 😂 I love when editors get passionate enough that they gotta add a third opinion with jokes. And the style of editing is so fun to watch too

Did I pause to read the entire editor's dialogue about Sharpay? You bet your bottom dollar I did. Fair points. Great essay. 10/10

Please give the editor a cookie and a hug. Not in this particular order, but as you see fit.:face-red-heart-shape:

I legitimately paused this video easily 17times to read EVERYTHING the editor had to say, and I gotta say, I have no regrets.😂

@CuteLih 1 year ago

I think my favorite thing about this video is the editor having a whole roller coaster of emotions because of Sharpay XD

Attempt #(42) of asking for Spirit : Stallion of the Cimarron!! Was my absolute childhood movie growing up and the filmmaking is so beautiful with amazing scores and concepts of loss and staying true to once nature even in the face of adversity!
