Hax claims the community is totalitarian
The community spends years proving him correct

leffen is a reflection of the community that enabled him. if narcissists that think the world revolves around them are held accountable- they can, with time, understand empathy and how their actions affect others. Tragic how almost all of us reacted..All i did was say free hax in like 5 tournaments chats. I'm nobody but i wish i would have tried to reach out once i saw how sad he was. RIP dude. Thanks franChise for shouting out several others who actually tried to make a positive impact on the situation.

I don't blame Hax$ for sticking to his guns. He believed something(that turned out to be true) and just because these deranged TOs didn't like it didn't stop him. Much respect. Also, asking him to look past melee is very sad. It's like a piano player losing their arms or a baseball player getting injured. You don't just move on from your life.

To any supporters of Hax's ban, I ask this: Who was it for? Who did it help?

Hax is dead, so it clearly didn't help him.

The TOs admit Hax wasn't a threat to anyone at tournaments, and he attended over 30 without causing any problems.

Leffen lives on a different continent, and doesn't even play Melee anymore.

So who was it all for? Was it really worth it?

Those few in that group chat that drove him further into psychosis over weeks/months and then laughing about it and then having the gall to show up at his funeral are probably open to civil lawsuits and possibly even criminal prosecution. You can't just push someone to unalive themselves and then walk away like nothing happened.

So this is why Nintendo doesn't sponsor Smash Tournaments.
These people are a PR nightmare.

hax literally in hospital
no reaction
leffen says 'i feel unsafe'
well thats just unacceptable who made you feel unsafe my sweet boy? was it that boy in the hospital bed over there?

Rest in peace to a legend

My favorite part of the Smash Factor X situation was the Mexican TOs telling the US TOs that they don't get to decide everything in the world and that Mexico was perfectly capable of managing itself. It was art.

Hax$ brought Melee out of the dark ages.
Whether or not people want to admit it, "20XX" saved Melee's culture.
Additionally, the B0XX was designed specifically so that hand-based injuries would cause less retirements. All around, Hax$ was one of the best people in all of eSports culture.

But Leffen? Name one good thing he's done, other than being the 3rd best Fox main in a country with a population of 12.

Because some dude called another dude Hitler in a YouTube video, the greater Smash community excused socially ostracizing a man, the IP theft and flip of the B0XX by a doxxer, and laid his death via complications from a suicide attempt at the feet of the people that advocated FOR him. You cannot hate these people enough.

Just so fucking sad, man. None of this ever had to happen. Rest in peace, Aziz. 20XX Forever

will probably react to this soon (too tired atm)

Isn't it wild that Smash is a scene that can argue in favor of people who partook in sexual activity with minors, yet some dude who had negative reactions to long term abuse and poorly treated mental health issues which make him a danger to nobody but himself gets treated worse than any actual creep?

Hax used a totalitarian state metaphor to talk about the melee scene, but he should have used cults for the metaphor.
Let the two parties resolve the case in an actual court case? No. Have a bunch of people in power positions decide what justice is? Yes of course that's way better.
The irony that Hax stood up against bullying and narcissistic manipulation, only to be accused of bullying and manipulation shows how fucking spineless the melee "scene" structure is.
He literally was ostracized and bullied to suicide. Disgusting
Leffen deserved every bit of hate he got. It wasn't because of Hax, it was because of his own actions.

the fact that some people doubled down when it came out that hax has bipolar disorder that he is still a danger and should stay banned because of his mental illness is actually really scary and makes me feel like mental health was never a priority for the community at large but a weapon. it's easy to tell someone to just get help and go to therapy on twitter but it's another to actively try to support a friend struggling. it's always "we should have done better" when someone dies and never when they're still alive. they just made him into a public spectacle without considering him as a person. RIP hax$

Why do people in charge of smash tournaments have a bias for Leffen, he’s harassed people on multiple occasions but the second he gets some heat people start getting punished on his behalf, what a cry bully. People in other competitive games don’t like him for being a stain on anything he’s a part of, so why do smash people keep sucking him off, I don’t understand.

I'm glad to hear that you and Tech tried talking Hax out of making his later videos. I saw some people blame Tech for what happened. They claimed that he pushed Hax to make them. I didn't believe it, and of course they didn't have any source on that claim, but it stuck out to me. I keep seeing people say that Hax was too mentally unwell to be helped by the community, but then go on to blame Tech and others for publicly supporting him and calling out people's silence, saying that it worsened his mental state. Which is it: the community isn't responsible for the vast majority of Hax's mental health issues, or that certain community members (even if I disagree on who) are actively making him suffer and drove him to s**c*de? Now that he's passed, people are expected to "keep peace", by ignoring how much the community failed him. The mental gymnastics people are making to not take fault is insanely sickening. A lot of people aren't keeping quiet out of respect. Some are, but I believe the primary motivator behind a lot of the community's silence is cowardice. If this keeps going on, we're going to have another case like Hax's. RIP Abdulaziz Al-Yami. All the love and support to his mother and friends.

you aren't obligated to say anything, you are one of the few who defended him before his passing, which is more than anything anyone else in the scene has said. still, i'm glad you are saying something.

The people that whispered in his ear through discord pushing him to fall further down the rabbit hole and then had the gall to show up at his funeral with a shit eating grin and speak at the service truly are some of the most vile human beings I have had the displeasure of learning about during this whole development, not only should they be banned from participating in any part of the Smash scene, they really need to be put on a list or some form of social probation because if laws were a hair stricter they would have been put in prison.
