It would be insane to revisit areas like a buried Arbiters Grounds, or something beneath Lake Hylia.
Maybe even just mines repurposed as strongholds for Ganondorfs minions or sumn

I personally hope the Sheikah theme returns in the sequel, BUT only for ONE dungeon. If you want to, you could make it such that it was broken open at some point, leading to it being contaminated by malice leaking in, almost like an infected wound. Add to it some crumbling walls, rare underground enemies, and a healthy dosage of stuff breaking as soon as you try to use it. A nice bit of contrast to the first game's overuse of the theme.

If the rumor of a playable Zelda is true, then the dungeons can be done in cooperation. Maybe Zelda could keep the sheika slate and Link will return to his items (sorry for my english).

Maybe Links new “green arm” will hinder his ability to climb?

If they add in underwater swimming in some form, I bet you any money that Lake Hylia will once again play host to a temple.

I think a dungeon that takes place under the sand were a crazed cult takes your items and you have to solve a series of puzzles and stealth challenges to escape and put a stop to their evil rituals that may tie into the things seen in the trailer. I think sequences in games where all your items are taken away makes for a unique experience. This idea is heavily inspired by the second visit to Elden Volcano in Skyward Sword because that was one of my favorite sequences in that game, but I’m curious what you think about it. I had a similar idea with the hookshot about two years ago where it could be more action focused, allowing Link to wallrun and fight while hanging from walls.

I like the open world much more because of the feeling of discovery, when you find nadra, or when you get to a labyrinth, find a cool and mysterious landmark, or see a guardian controlled area, now that is true entertainment.

I just wanted to add that expanding on amiibo stuff could be cool as well, while some just gave you extra loot, having wolf link and epona join you in game was pretty amazing. Other than four swords, this is one of the few canon instances of two links meeting

First off, I’m surprised this is your first video. You could’ve fooled me! I agree with most of the points about dungeons, especially aesthetics and enemy/boss variety. I particularly appreciated your point RE: using the climbing and other physics/chemistry mechanics to design memorable bosses that couldn’t have been in any precious LoZ game. However, an issue I have with some of your points (and similar points made by others in the community) is that you suggest some fantastic ideas but you don’t discuss how these could be integrated into a BotW-like game without ruining/contradicting key design principles of BotW. For instance, unique items for each dungeon. In theory, I agree with this idea wholeheartedly, but there are many potential snags to consider in practice. Does this mean the player isn’t given runes at the beginning of the game and must instead re-earn these? This has the issue of severely limiting mobility and ability for players to solve puzzles/traverse the world in multiple ways. It may also encourage more linear trajectories if the items are essential to traversal. Both of these could cut into what made BotW so memorable for both beginners and experts alike - it’s open-ended puzzles and shrines that could be solved in many ways thanks to the carefully-crafted arsenal of rune powers. Alternatively, dungeon items could be in addition to the runes given at the start (kind of like the 4 champion powers). But then I’d like to hear discussion about how these items would integrate with the starting runes. Would they make world traversal too easy? Would the items be useless outside of dungeons or used only in contrived circumstances? (After all, this has been an issue with past Zelda items). This is especially important to consider because classic Zelda items may not work as well in an open world compared to the more contained worlds of precious games. Your discussion sometimes touches on these topics (e.g., when you talked about building off of shrine puzzles), but more in-depth discussion is required for lists such as yours to rise beyond being a set of overly-optimistic requests that aren’t possible in practice. As another example, larger dungeons are possible, but are they a good idea or would that make it easier to get lost or confused? This is different than the issue of a dungeon being too long, as you mentioned in the video. (I know I sometimes had trouble seeing how contraptions in select shrines worked through my scope... only to realize the solution was right in front of my nose and the size of the dungeon/it’s textures were misleading me.) I think the entire LoZ community has to be a bit more realistic when asking for changes or we’ll end up being disappointed, especially since most are requesting a return to traditional Zelda when this game was designed to subvert that formula. We can’t have it all. If we want elements of traditional LoZ gameplay, what concessions would that require? What elements of BotW would need to be changed to accommodate? And, relatedly, how would these more traditional LoZ gameplay elements need to be augmented to complement the type of open-world game BotW 2 is likely to be? (For the record, I don’t claim to have these answers, but I’d like to join in more conversations that carefully attend to these questions). I would love to revisit a dungeon at the Arbiter’s grounds in the desert region. That and one inside the Akkala Tower. Awesome video!

The point of the shrines was for creativity. I think the devs entirely intended you to be able to solve a puzzle in multiple ways. Like using a weapon to create a path for electricity isn't cheating. That's just creative thinking. There is no cheating in the shrines. The monks only care if you can reach them regardless of the method you do it.

I like the idea of having colossus type bosses. Maybe, like in the first game, all the dungeons are available right from the start, but maybe Link isn’t strong enough. Maybe each boss will have some gimmick that is hinted at throughout the dungeon or even outside it and maybe the boss’s weakness can be found outside the dungeon or even in another one.

This guy came out of nowhere! But after seeing his editing and crafting abilities I can see why it suddenly was among the big ones like Zeltik, NBC and the like. Very good job!
