I saw this movie while I was home from Basic training just days before leaving for Vietnam. It pretty much set the direction for my life. I was pissed at the world at the ending of the movie but I was already pissed at the world for being drafted and heading to Vietnam. I was already wanting a Harley and thats what I saved my money for in Vietnam. The rest of the movie happened too. I'm 76 now and if anyone asks me what my favorite film is the answer is still Easy Rider.

I was 17 years old and just graduated high school in 1969. I remember seeing it at my local theater. the following year I received my draft notice but my hearing was so bad I was turned down. I always felt bad that boys in my generation weren’t so lucky. I bought my first Harley when I was 20 years old and I still have a Harley in my garage. I’ll be 75 this year.

From chaos comes a dancing star - Nietzsche. A movie that defined a generation.

The music was amazing

The best logline I’ve ever seen for a movie:
“The ride across the country that changed America.”
That is precisely what it did.

I was 16 and saw it with my friend. We had just started smoking pot sometime before it came out. Being 16 we were stunned by the movie ending and we walked for about a mile before we mumbled something like, "Wow" and "Far out" and "Gee they shot him." We were dumb kids, but Easy Rider was sort of a coming-of-age film for us along with M.A.S.H  and The Graduate and Midnight Cowboy and all the other anti-hero movies. The counter-culture really formed us for what we became later in life.

Hopper and Fonda created the entire chopper industry.

Easy Rider (1969) is legendary for having no traditional musical score. Instead, directors Peter Fonda and Dennis Hopper edited the film to contemporary rock and folk songs they pulled from their personal record collections and the radio. This groundbreaking "found music" approach revolutionized soundtracks in cinema.

I was already a Biker when that movie came out, my parents being kinda straight, actually seen the movie and recomended it to me, the scene of
Dennis and  Peter ending up in that parade just blew my mind because that is exactly what happend to me and my Buddy making the wrong turn and ending up in a parade, only diff we bailed and never got arrested, Im now almost 82 and still riding and living in Mexico, I never blew it, but had plenty of bike wrecks,

Saw the film probably 50 times, they played it at my colledge loads of times. Always been a biker and bought my Harley for  my 55th. Birthday. Still riding around the lanes of Kent uk at 72 years old. Keep rocking and riding. Bill Dover UK

I saw Easy Rider when i was 15 with my older brother and knew that i wanted a Harley after seeing the movie.  I finally had the money when i was 19 and have been riding ever since. I also bought the soundtrack album when it came out and still have it.  Good times

I watched this video 2 years after it was released..it highly influenced my life in biking..at 70 still happily there...

I recently sold my entire 70s record album collection. I had the record album, the music score for Easy Rider, I also had the music on a cassette. Back in 1969, I was still building scale models from kits sold in hobby stores. You couldn't buy scale models of "Chopper",....motorcycles that were customized, with raked, long extension front forks, sissy bar back seats, and other features.   I was an avid model builder, taking existing model kits, and customizing them. I was able to purchase 1/24 scaled motorcycle models, and using plastic pieces from other models and improvised parts, I was able to create replicas of the 2 bikes, ridden in the movie. I even custom painted the tear-drop shaped gas tank, like on Peter Fonda's motorcycle.
I was so good, I won awards for my models. Model producing companies held annual competitions in various cities. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where they held these competitions. I submitted customized car models, ones where I used a special plastic sculpting putty, to alter the shapes, of the plastic car bodies. I received a blue ribbon award, and my model was photographed and it was published in our local newspaper. By that period of time, I knew I wanted to become a professional Artist. I pursued that in college and graduate school, and earned my BFA in 1976, and my MFA in 1979.

Steppenwolf! Born To Be Wild, The Pusher!

One of the best films from that era for sure , I wish Fonda and Hopper had stayed friends .🚲

I saw Easy Rider in 1969 at the Lido theater in Brisbane Australia , I was 12 years old and there was a " shift " in me that was both good and bad. I ended up an alcoholic and dope fiend using from 17 to 49 years of age. Got sober and went to a AA convention in Bali Indonesia in 2007 I'm still there surfing and helping a woman , my best friend raise her orphaned niece and nephew , twins and I thank God every day for my wonderful life. Being of service.

My all time #1 favorite film! Saw it with my parents when I was 14, (God bless'm). That weirdness aside, the film changed my life. A lot of great movies out there, but this is the only one that had that kind of impact. 56+ years later, I'm still Riding...Easy...

They BLEW IT!
