There are so many songs by Meat Loaf, that are always mentioned as his best songs. To me personally THIS song is his masterpiece.

No movie.... A Michael Bay music video....

One of most underrated Meat Loaf's songs and what a great music video featuring young Robert Patrick.

I think what he is saying here is the past may appear closer than it is you've gone you've gone beyond the past but it's still right behind you right with you

This was just the video, not part of a movie.  His songwriter, Jim Steinman writes these long, operatic masterpieces.    He found Meat Loaf as his "voice" and the rest is history.

Every time meatloaf sings it isn't a song...its an event.  This is one of my favorite songs/videos...ever...

This is one of my most favorite Meatloaf songs 🙌🙌

I miss meatloaf he's singing was perfection and his acting was amazing you just don't see that anymore 😔 my favorite song from him 💔

this story hits so hard for me. in my teens... i had a friend... our dads were the dealing type folks of the surrouding counties... im misspelling on porpouse for algarithims. my dad was a weed "exterminater" his dad sold colkacola.. and so on. well my friend drank a lot of it to the point he got kicked out from his adiction in his teens... to the point he had to follow his true dad to florida who didnt do that. not his stepdad that did. that was his last place.... and he was kicked out so he kirk cobained before kirk did.... thats the first stansa for me. the 2nd... yes my dad beat me, bro and mom. plus biggest "weed exterminator" that had me drive at age 7 and hold that hole puncher for deals. thats terrifying looking back on it. imagine that. then the 3rd stansa of song... didnt know it at the time but my dad was baning this chick... well this was 2nd Mariage of my parents and he hooks me up with this girl that looks like a cross between 17 year old brook shields and 14 year old milla yovavich. that was my first repeated fun.... and experience... all while 15 driving a 71 chevelle with almost 500 hp just motor. so yeah this song hits hard on all the notes. ive had many encounters i cant talk about age but i was the young one. like... even my son dealt with the same constantly... didnt help i named him after the goblin king... Jareth... aka david bowie and guess what... him and bowie wow... so close to same looks

"Kenny" was based on a childhood friend of Jim Steinman who, you guessed it, died young.  The dad is based on Meat's own father, who was an alcoholic.

Meat has a fantastic catalog.  Anything off of Bat Out of Hell I and II, It's All Coming Back To Me Now, Couldn't Have Said it Better Myself (album version), Testify, Not A Dry Eye in the House.  So many incredible songs to pick from.

Jim loved to play on words.

"Objects in the rearview mirror may appear closer than they are" used to be written on the review mirrors of car mirrors

Jim Steinman was a master song writer!

This great video and the video for his song “ I would do anything for love” was directed by Hollywood director Michael Bay , thus the highly movie like video production

There is a brilliant live version of this on YouTube.

No, not a movie but an account of meatloaf biography!! TO HELL AND BACK!

You two certainly know how to kill a vibe.

The guy who wrote the song. wrote a lot of Meatloaf's hits. This song was a song he wrote as a tribute to a friend who died when he was younger. I will say I actually saw Meatloaf live when I was younger and he sounds even better live

I don’t think any song I heard for meatloaf was bad will you please try life is a lemon

the music was composed on all of the albums to be made into a rock musical.  if you listen to the words, and how it's all a big story, the instrumentals, the background vocals, it's all just a musical.  you hear words like, "caution, kids at play" is very depective of a musical.
