I've still got "THEY'RE SINKING THE CITIES WITH A GIANT WORM" stuck in my head all these years later. Great game, but man does the difficulty not mess around.

Yeah, the tank section is absolutely toxic. You're supposed to destroy the tower, but the game won't allow you to destroy the tower until you get far enough along the hill. But as soon as you get to that point, you instantly get shot to pieces, I literally had to drive backwards and as soon as Baird said the dialogue I used the boosters and drove around the giant rock and even then I almost died, and I had a peek around the corner to barely beat that part.I don't understand how anybody can beat it normally.

I'm at the 1:22 mark, love to see this Carmine guy, real cool. He seems awsome with a great life ahead of him after you win this war!

I gotta say your sense of humor and attitude towards the games wven after dying 10 trillion times keeps me coming back. Im a cheev hunter myself but goddamn some of these i could just never put myself through regardless of how good the end result is. Id literally lose 20 years of my life from the stress lmfaoooooooo

Thank you for training Carmine he was a valuable addition to the team frfr

To make future runs not as painful for everyone else.
1) Kantus are pains but they aren't as bad so long as you take out the tickers
2) gorgon pistols are great against wretches and tickers.
3) use a boom shield when possible.
4) avoid everything that snam does.

i love how Anthony & Benjamin Carmine are just your run of the mill basic grunt & then there’s Clayton Carmine, who’s built like mack truck & is the same size as Marcus Fenix 😂😂 i can see why the brothers suffered the fates they did

The fart sound during that emotionally driven cutscene threw me off so hard ☠️

A very handy tip is to abuse a technique I call “turret reset” when you get on a turret and get off immediately your health resets. The reason I don’t call it a bug is because it’s in most gears games including 4

33:45 leave it to Dom to take ALL THE CREDIT LOL

I can explain the weird shit with the chainsaw. So in Gears 2 if you are too close to an enemy and you  hold b it will make you character back up. The only reason I can think of as to why this is a mechanic is that it would be op in multiplayer so they made it so there is a minimum distance. The reason it didn’t work for the sire section was because the sire hit you and stopped your chainsaw and then you were too close to chainsaw again. The worm section I think a creature was behind you as your allies were shooting at you so you were too close to chainsaw the membrane.

One of my favorite games of all time! The campy fun in games of that time was something special in hindsight. Hyped to see you go through it and relive it again

rest in pepperonis Ben Carmine 💀

The funny thing is for the most part this achievement is easily cheesed in Coop. You can have your ally choose his own difficulty… so while you’re getting the Insane difficulty achievements hiding while a friend is on Casual sweeping it for you.

46:20 Well he is canonically dead just... y'know... wasn't supposed to be in this moment.

Playing through this and Gears 1 with my friends as 8 year olds in one sitting on Insane, while rotating shifts of the two controllers are core memories of mine

Getting that "end of combat" sound cue after an encounter that's been giving you insane amounts of trouble 👌

41:15  aw yes the pillars that fall ten feet down, stop shift to the side another 5 feet, and then continue fallijg down

I know this video is almost 2 years old, but for anyone wondering why the chainsaw wasn't working with the Sires, they have a longer reach than the Lancer's chainsaw. Note how when he stood there waiting for it, it hit him first, but when he moved into it, he killed it

I love it when the games blindside Snam like a linebacker on crack, and then he goes "whUATt ?!!!"
