Bring Vinyl Sets Back. Let’s see some mixing, beat matching, and even a few train wrecks because that’s where this ish all started. For those who know. 🔥
YEAH!!!! I was there, down in the very front - I already spotted myself in the first minute or so of the video!!! Thanks for a great time and uploading the video so I can relive it!!! 😎👍🏻
I love Carl Cox. The DJs DJ. He could be playing Kylie Minogue & Taylor Swift and I’d still enjoy him. He’s just the best. And back on vinyl, The Vinyl Frontier. Oh yes, oh yes……..
So great to see Carl still going strong, he is such a lovely guy! I remember first meeting him in 1991 and then again throughout the years in multiple countries! Absolute legend 🫡😎💪
Some of us still enjoy the thrill of nudging a vinyl record millimetre by millimetre. It’s an art, using just your ear for best matching — and I still practice it and ❤ it! Great set Coxie! and what a crowd! 🎧🎧🎧
Yeah 51 here. Was a regular at Twilo when he had a residency. We're talking late 90's or so. 3 tables on springs, one loses a spring and is bouncing up and down like a low rider. i watched this man continue playing 3 tables while holding the corner of one. Gave him a big pound over the DJ booth when his set was over. I wouldnt be surprised if he reads this and remembers. I was at most parties and clubs around the 90's until NYC got ruined and I can say this set is like the old days.
People have no idea how hard it is to beat match with vinyl. It's a true skill and a lost art. I remember when the CD mixers came out with the automatic beat match feature, it pissed me off seeing DJ's who never learned the real way.
But I stood my ground and was strictly vinyl all throughout the 90's and early 2000's. Now it's making a slight comeback, I still have all my records and Vestax PCV-275R mixer with rotary knobs for long slow transitions with EDM.
This guy has been DJing for a millennium.
