In this episode, Francis heads to Mitcham Test Centre to take his Mod 1 motorcycle test on his 2009 Yamaha R1.
After putting in the training and preparation, test day finally arrives. But as many riders know, passing the test isn't just about skill—it's also about managing your nerves.
Unfortunately, despite being capable of the manoeuvres, the pressure of the day gets the better of Francis, and the test doesn't go the way he hoped.

Second time finished at 2am at work the night before, tried to get some practice in with the figure 8 on a sloped car park outside work, dropped my 125 on top of me. Up first thing absolutely shattered and covered in bruises. Got to the test and absolutely smashed it.
I’m convinced the only reason I passed mod 2 first time, was I thought I’d failed right at the start (missed the indicator with clunky winter gloves while changing lane). In my mind this turned the test into a practice run and I ended up absolutely gobsmacked that I’d passed.
I rode 30 miles to the mod1 test center from the school, crack of dawn, cold, rush hour and by the time i got there i was a fried.. i relaxed a bit, warmed up and the test was less stressful than the ride in. Passed 1st time.. a decent ride to a test gets you settled. 😊
