Nicely Described video of the Rodney. Not too sure why the "useless" comment you say in the title. She was one of the top ships throughout in ww2 with the mission's she served in. My great grandfather served with also his twin brother serving too. My Great grandfather was awarded many medals. Retake of malta, north Africa, Scilly in the Mediterranean. Re supply of russia in the north sea convoy. Altanic convoy hellping britain before we all starved, had no ammo and supplies left to fight Germans back if they ever managed to invade Britain by land. She Helpped to bring USA troops to England across the Atlantic. The Dday landings in the Channel, which Canadians praised Rodney for the well targeted shots on German bunkers and artillery, saving many Canadian and British lives before they even landed on the beach. Also Canadian troops we were told she got a "direct"  hit on a panza tank. More inland France when the Canadian troops took the beach. That's first ship to be recorded to ever do so. With also the first battleship to score a direct torpedo hit on Bismarck, the first ever ship to do so. Thats a couple of underated XP points she deserves!. My great grandad was on leave during the sinking of Bismarck but i believe his twin was on ship. But thats some of the missions my grandfather served for those well deserved medals he was awarded. She was a ship that run constantly throughout the war, for the importance of missions with 100 percent achivements. She even deserves the sinking of Bismarck for the damage she done, taking out turrets and the also the bridge killing the captain and comanders making her blind and unable to attavck back with precision. Also especially the torpedoe hit. The Bismarck was sinking already but the Germans pride made them scuttle her for her final fairwell to the grave. The Germans knew the british orders was to sink her not capture her for the revenge for loss of hood, so in my opinion the scuttle shouldnt count at all to why peopie believe how she sunk. Scuttleing a sinking ship! Fair play to her she took a hell of a battrring and stayed afloat for a long time that ill give her and tye german crew big respect too, it must of been hell for the survivors . Rodney also served many other missions and the only main damage she got was her engines from being run constantly, and turret's from firing so many on point shots. Never took a hit back from enemy fire. With all said I wouldn't say at all she was a "useless" battleship but one of the most underated, best British ships, well served missions with records no other ship managed to achieve, and i think a beautiful looking battleship with the turrets all up front ever to be built. "Useless" not at all the ship saved the allied forces to help massively win the war in Europe, and Russia for taking Berlin. She should be praised highly, not being called useless is insulting towards the crew that served what what she achieved.

And i believe your information about the the torpedo hit on bismark is incorrect. There is a 2 part programme about the sinking of Hood and second part sinking of Bismarck. I think it was played on BBC but could be wrong. But the film shows the dives to the wreck and there is a big hole under the ship which they now they believe that was the hit from Rodney's torpedo where they discover critical damage which caused 1000s of tons of water and could find were the ship was flooded from the design plans in which they believe the ship was sinking and would of sunk anyway caused just by that hit. Scuttled or not, the Rodney deserves the claim to the death of Bismarck.
