It's important to note, her SFA3 story was mistranslated. Bison stole her power, yes, but her power is not Psycho Power. Hers is connected to those hairpieces she wears, which Bison stole to power the Psycho Drive. This was adapted for Project X Zone 2, where they actually translate it properly

Ingrid feels like a great example of Capcom's historical handling of their legacy that made games like Marvel vs. Capcom possible in the first place.
Even a game that never saw the light of day has its place in Capcom's history and warrants being remembered and celebrated.

My favorite part was when Ryu said to Ingrid "what's that make you, some type of Capcom Fighting All-Stars Code Holder?" and then she held that code all over the place

@TheXell 8 months ago

This makes her feel like some fighting-game cryptid.

Ingrid is a character I'll always champion. Other Capcom fans may dislike her for being radically different from your standard Street Fighter, Darkstalker, or any other character from their fighting games, but that's what I love about her. She's NOT like them, she's UNIQUE. And if there's one thing I adore in fighting games, it's characters that stand out on their own. It's similar to how I feel about Minecraft Steve and Duck Hunt in Smash Bros., they stick out so much, but have plenty of charm to them that I can't help but love them.

How am I NOT going to click on a video titled "The Ingrid Files"

@FirEmblem428 8 months ago

i was gonna joking say "the ingrid files have been released" but i wasn't expecting ingrid to have a rabbit hole's worth of history surrounding her.

@kingjamesbond4009 8 months ago

I'm just so excited to see what they'll be cooking up for her in 6 so badly

I don’t hate Ingrid like most people, just find her mysterious is all.

“Yeah, I’m supposed to talk about Ingrid and her origins, but I’m gonna have to get this off my chest in regards of my gripes with Capcom Fighting Jam.”

Jokes aside, I came here for Ingrid, yet I legit was super intrigued by that section. I never saw anyone made a very in-depth analysis on why Capcom Fighting Jam didn’t work in the first place.

If Ingrid is supposed to be a divine character, I really want to see how she would interact with Gill when he is bound to release in sf6

@SquadsProtector 8 months ago

Correction about her Alpha 3 story, Psycho Power is not her power and she isn't the originator of it, what Bison actually stole was one of her hair crests to use to power the Psycho Drive. Her being the originator of Psycho Power was a mistranslation.

Tbh most of the hate I see Ingrid get is from older SF players who dislike her for being a "cringey anime girl".

@G.R_777 8 months ago

40:00 This lore is not in the Japanese version it actually a result of mistranslation because in the Japanese version of her arcade mode Bison is getting a new power up from one of Ingrid’s stolen medallions, this scene with rose is actually her connecting Bisons new power is coming from her

With how many deep cuts World Tour has I am absolutely confident the other Code Holders will appear in some form for Ingrid's content either as WT NPCs or in the lore/drawings you unlock from leveling your friendship with her.

Capcom Fighting All-Stars is one of the games I hope gets leaked one day. I remember seeing that first trailer when it released back in the early 2000’s and was really looking forward to playing it.

Something about it just seemed really interesting and fun.
