Hey lads. Thank you so much for the support on this video. It is doing WAY better than I thought it would. Even my brother, who doesn't like Brawlhalla messaged me about how much he enjoyed it. It means a bunch, so thank you. It's cool seeing the many different perspectives from people that left. A lot of stories of past players who don't play anymore are very interesting, and a little sad.

Some concerns have been brought to me, though.

0:56 I represented Skixex with the wrong flag. Oopsie.

1:08 Swirft isn't part of SiB anymore, so this joke doesn't work anymore.

17:45 I've received word that the person in this clip is not a good dude. Forgive me, I wasn't aware.

33:35 He's now the World Champion. GGs.

Getting lvl 25 on a legend should let you use that legend’s default weapon skins on other legends.

YouTube Algorithm: Hey hey, I know you don't play nor know anything about Brawlhalla buuuut wanna see this video about the things that this guy hates about the game?

Me: Sure

Fighting game players will complain about RPS until the cows come home but give them a game where you can't throw rock and suddenly we get this lol.

@NyukiFrost 11 months ago

My main problem has always been with the gameplay. The game just devolves into a cat and mouse chase, and the mouse has 0 disadvantage, cause even whiff punishing is impossible sometimes. The amount of work you have to put in for one hit is like 50x more than the amount you're putting into circle camping and stalling. You're basically playing flash DBD at that point. At least other platform fighters have a solution to that.

@Ev.000 11 months ago

as a 2450+ Valhallen player with thousands of hours in this game, the biggest thing that hurts is that its insanely repetitive at a certain point, especially at a high level, its my biggest issue with the game currently, every game is the same legends and people play the same way, and usually for a fighting game thats expected and its fine, but without a rps system being in place neutral becomes mind numbing, there is no real thought process, after 3-4 games I genuinely get bored of playing ranked, and watching pro level games is no better, I think if this game ever were to get better or was to ever evolve and become a staple platform fighter it needs an overhaul of the movement and dodge system

Bad "progression" in a fighting game is a bit of a silly concern. Thousands of people play in slippi or fightcade or any other game without a live service progression treadmill. If the game's mechanics can't inherently keep you locked in, the issue isn't the lack of progress bars, the issue lies deeper.

you talked about so much here that i can’t hope to touch on it all in this comment, i recommend everyone watch though -- for the incredible editing if nothing else (of which there’s a lot, a lot else)

one of the best produced brawlhalla videos, ever. your work editing projects for others that you showcased at the start is always great, but i think your creative freedom really shines through here on another level, this is a monster of an editing job and you should be very proud of what you’ve made

if i’m gonna touch on one thing, i just want to say i especially appreciated your brief mention on US-W and the weird limbo it’s always existed in (especially after 2017 when regional championships ceased for the most part & the servers became treated like one consolidated NA region). lots of incredible players hampered over the years unfortunately

amazing work gamer, really. absolutely stellar. my 37 minute poop session has never felt shorter

@Stevulet 11 months ago

i stopped playing brawl years ago, but its definitely crazy to me how Rivals 1 literally did a brawlhalla crossover that made sense, yet most of brawls crossovers hardly make any sense

@KarmaKomet 11 months ago

6:37 I don't think smash doubles is unserious, just niche compared to singles. Melee Doubles in particular has stuck around for a while and is pretty enjoyable.

@TangoZP 11 months ago (edited)

I have only like 10-20 hours in this game, and the lack of block-grab-attack RPS system is what made me quit it so soon. Maybe it's me being raised on games like Guilty Gear , Melty Blood, Mortal Kombat and etc. , but it really just feels weird to have barely zero defensive options.

But my opinion is +- biased, because I am more of just fighting games player.

Also, absolutely peak editing.

EDIT: Celeste music at the end is so cool, always works

I expected to hate watch some guy talking about how brawlhalla is stupid and worse than smash bros ultimate and nobody cares about it yada yada, and I got the most valid criticism ever from someone who actually knows the game in and out

I hope BMG finds this vid, it's full of great criticism that might help them make the game better

@Alan-ou2id 11 months ago

This video should be 48 hours long

@trazao9216 11 months ago

As someone who stopped playing Brawlhalla, my biggest issue was how short the dodge timer has gotten. With the fact that you have more than 10 options when being hit in a string (including not dodging to dodge later as well as jumping), only getting 2 or 3 hits when correctly guessing or reacting to a 1 in 10+ makes reading an opponent feel very unrewarding. I know some follow up moves cover multiple dodge options, but that just makes your gameplan more boring as you will hit the same followups most of the time. And as a result weapons that deal more damage in a short string are very powerful, like axe. Increase dodge timer, limit dodge to 4 directions and neutral? Anyway good video <3

@OS_Erol 11 months ago

They have addressed crossovers:
1. They cant add them as unique legends because licenses can run out besides ubisoft characters (castlevania)
2. They dont wanna add a toggle to remove a huge portion of the animation work they do cause it removes a ton of work bmg artists did (personally i dont really agree with this, but ig you can use mods to deal with crossover sigs)
