Pokémon cards are very popular in Japan, and many children cherish their collections. So my husband, Kyosuke, and I went to apologize to the parents of Kyosuke's friend. Cutting his hair was a kind of punishment, but it's not uncommon for children to shave their heads in Japan.

Boys who play baseball, in particular, often have shaved heads. I hesitated about making a video about this, but I thought everyone would be confused if Kyosuke suddenly had a shaved head, so I decided to make a video about this episode as well.

So there I was, Luise, watching your title pop up while I was struggling to fold one fitted sheet like it wasn’t actively fighting for its freedom, and suddenly I thought, “Hold on, this woman is out here coordinating six entire humans while I’m losing battles to laundry with no emotional remorse.” And goodness, it reminded me of the time I babysat three kids for one afternoon and came out of that house looking like I had survived a mild natural disaster. At one point I had a toddler handing me a banana, another one asking deep philosophical questions like “Why do clouds exist,” and the third one trying to climb the bookshelf like it was Everest, and I swear I had a full internal monologue going like, “Luise, you are not built for this, retreat while you still can.” But watching your title gave me this weird burst of admiration and motivation, like if you can maintain order in a home with six tiny tornadoes, then surely I can organize my desk without crying into a snack. And honestly, yay, because you make productivity feel less like a punishment and more like a chaotic-but-beautiful dance where everyone eventually finds their shoes. If my life were a reality show, you just walked in as the wise mentor saying, “Alright sweetheart, let’s tidy up before the clutter starts developing its own personality,” and honestly, I needed that.

I love the extensions that your husband was adding to the boys room and the new room for your eldest son. I especially loved that he was helping his father.

I remember those days when my oldest used to bring home all of the work that they did at the end of the school year and I had to find places for the things because they didn't want to throw any out. I would pack them into small boxes with some type of drawing on it so that they could remember it, eventually they didn't remember anything and it all got thrown out, except for a few pictures that would end up on the fridge.
